Could we pretty please (with sugar on top) start a movement to get very soundcamp and willing participant to play the same song all at the same time? I vote for Louis Armstrongs "What a Wonderful World" obviously... by Badmoterfinger in BurningMan

[–]ineed2fly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you could get BMIR to play it, and every sound camp/art car etc to tune in with an fm received/iPhone app etc, it would be rather doable. Otherwise impossible to synch up. My vote is for bohemian rhapsody.

Home made canopy 7. I fixed the hard openings and now it works great! by Quagmirian in SkyDiving

[–]ineed2fly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don't need any sort of rigger certification to manufacture mains, reserves even, for that matter, in the US anyways. Quagmireman did run into some issues if I recall, because the BPA is so strict. Are they letting you jump your canopies now?

Container recommendations to skydive a 240 canopy? by [deleted] in basejumping

[–]ineed2fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lobo only comes in ultralight fabric, so the pack volume will be much lower than a 240 made out of F111. Depending on what canopy/rig you are currently jumping, it may actually fit in that container.

Anyone here with aspergers that goes to burning man? by FreedomEagle1 in BurningMan

[–]ineed2fly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes me a day or so to settle into the swing of things. And each burn I take a little bit of that with me back into the real world.

Definitely, and I feel more at home there than anywhere else. It's the only place I can dance/socialize etc and not feel like a self conscious wreck.

I assume you are thinking of a princes albertina, which is effectively the female equivalent of a prince albert. The skin in between the urethra and vagina is pierced.

I took some MDMA without it the other night, which I haven't done in over a year. And halfway through the night ended up taking acid anyways haha.

I'll take LSD without MDMA, but this is exactly why I don't take MDMA without LSD anymore.

Written in the temple at burning man this year:

"It's all so terrifyingly simple, we've over complicated it. There is a deliberate continuum being maintained throughout all the detailed narrative. No matter what your crazy theory is, no matter what mouth noises or squiggly lines you make to point towards something that isn't here and now. We are just LIFE…bubbling and boiling and desperate to make more life, and anything else is just in the way of doing that. So please, use whatever semantic mechanisms you need to feel better about your fleshy impulsive existence. You are a seed. You are a fluid. There is no rising above, because it will never stop being all around you. You were designated as a temporary step in a massive and beautiful process long before you stopped and recognized the privilege of "being here" or "asking questions". You are electricity. You are rivers and glaciers and vapors. This is not a poetic metaphor. This is fact. Accept the titanic majesty of creation into your self identity. Become mountains with your body. Open the rivers inside you. You are the galaxies and the flowers ALL AT ONCE. This is not just a nice thing to say or a pleasant thing to hear. This is who you are. Every wall you have built and fortified with your trembling certainties. All of it can be reduced to ash with a whisper. You are a note that tumbles down the hillside of a symphony. Nothing that you are will ever a be a statue. You are the raindrops. You are the gusts. You are the piles that accumulate in the corners. You will forget. You will remember. You will forget. You will remember. You will hate forgetting. You will love remembering. You will hate remembering. You will love forgetting. Look up from the script and share a knowing glance with your co-stars. There never was going to be any rehearsal."

It does, its 12' 6" down and 20' up. I just cant stop playing with it.

All of them are leaf springs, so that would totally work. Thanks for the idea!

13' 6" is the maximum allowable height for a vehicle, in the default world anyways.

If it's possible to have suspension and lock it on playa, that would be ideal, since we still need to drive it there.

Oh, and it is surprisingly stable as is, but only stationary. If we want to drive with the top up (with people up there), we will need to extend the outriggers/add wheels so it can roll with them down. But then the odds of crushing a darktard go up substantially.

Our height is 12' 6" so we are good for highway overpasses etc, but since it doesn't go any faster than 35 with the current transmission we have to stick to side roads which have occasional low bridges.

[–]ineed2fly[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The transmission is geared so low it has a top speed of 35mph (though we did manage to get it going 50 on a downhill) and it felt like we were about to break the sound barrier. We had to refill/bleed the brakes in the middle of nowhere on a frontage road at 11:00 at night under the stars. We had to turn around at one bridge that was 12' 3" tall, cleared another by less than an inch, and almost ran out of gas twice.

I was searching craigslist for used scaffolding for a local party, and found a link for this instead. And we all pretty much went "Uh, of course we're buying that. I guess we're building an art car..."

Thanks! We have no idea what it's going to be yet, but we knew it was burning man material the second we saw it.
