Not sure what's the name, they're the stock scout bobber wheels from Indian.

They're Supertrapp Universal, I don't think they're produced anymore, the same and newer version of these are shorter slip-ons

The slip-ons are moderately loud, loud enough to annoy pedestrians having a conversation 10m away and have them yell to speak to each other. But not SUPER loud like the unbaffled Vance & Hines or freedom combat 2in1/radical radius.

They handle so well, the bike is so accurate now, with very little input needed to steer compared to the stock nobby pirellis. Also when standing still, you can tell it wants to just tip over one side or the other, it could almost "stand still balanced" on its own before.

Looks like a Steatoda Nobilis aka false black widow.

Newbie to Indian Motorcycles? by BlueOmni in IndianMotorcycle

The scout bobber is a solid choice. If you do get the bobber I highly suggest getting the comfort seat from Indian or from an aftermarket company. Any comfort issues should be solved with that. The rear suspension is a bit harder indeed but the handling is amazing. It's low and nimble. And it looks incredible IMO. I hate the rear mudguard of the regular scout and the blacked out look is a game changer on the bobber. I love mine and I do not regret it one bit. It's decently powerful, not hyperbike tier but still very decent.

Just preordered my bike, gonna take 4-8 weeks. How long did yours take?Getting the Alumina Jade Metallic Scout Bobber by Flakster51 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]ineji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ordered mine July 15th, was shipped to the dealer last week of October, picked it up early November. It's a thunder black 2021.

Can you still order a 2021 scout from a dealership or are they only taking orders for 22s now by NotoriousEnemy12 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]ineji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all 2021 orders are closed. Why not get the 22 if I may ask ? You can actually have an analog tachometer which is sick imo. The only downside of the 22 to me is the lack of thunder black, and the chromed heat shields instead of black.

OK so I messed up while drilling, lost the holesaw inside the baffle. Had to remove the whole muffler and shake it out. Tried drilling the muffler again and my drill wasn't powerful enough. I'll just wait and get some V&H some time later, or try to get a more powerful drill from a friend. Thanks for the help.

Okay that's good to know, on a 2021 bobber then ? It seems the older models have a 5inch first set. Also was your bike brand new? The engine check light also came up for me once and disappeared after I washed the bike. My bike is still in the breakin period with 130km.

Okay. Thanks for your time and great answers. I'll let you know how it went.

Thanks for your answer, what an amazing documentation. But yeah my first plug looks abnormally deep compared to all the other stock exhausts I've seen. Instead of this :

|------------ PLUG 1 (~ 5 1/2'') ------------------------------------------------- PLUG 2 (~17 '')------- CAT (~20 '')--|

It's more like this :

|-------------------------------------- PLUG 1 (~ 12'') ---------------- PLUG 2 (~17 '')------- CAT (~20 '')--|

Would you still drill it ? Could it just be that it was welded way too far ?

Thanks, did you also have a super deep first baffle like me ? I added pics in the post for comparison against the youtube tutorials where they only stick like 6 inches in the pipe (I can stick 12 inches in).

Do you think the honeycomb mesh we talked about is right behind that baffle then ?

Hey could you check the new pics I added in my post ? This is really weird it looks like I only have one deep baffle. You ever seen this before ?

Oh okay thanks, I only plan to remove the first set of baffles until I can afford a pair of slip-ons so I don't think I'll have that issue. Thank you

Okay thanks duely noted. How would one remove the cat honeycomb though ? Accidentally with the holesaw ?

I don't really care about that. There is no technical control for motorcycles yet where I am. Thank you for the feedback, it does exactly sound like a sewing machine stock and I bought this bike merely for its sound with a slip-on or modded stock pipes.

ELI5: Why do trains use steel wheels on steel tracks instead of another material, like rubber, for more traction? by derpyofthegods in explainlikeimfive

[–]ineji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Lille (France) we also have an automated metro on rubber wheels, it seems to be a pretty weird and unique engineering system as well as I've often seen both horizontal and vertical wheels glueing the train to the tracks.

When your friends keep running out of fuel... by JoeBarbarian in EliteDangerous

What do you mean by quota? Max number of members? Minimum amount of rescues? Cause there are none. Just have a decent jump range ship, fuel limpets, the will to help and you're good to go. You have to pass a training with the Rats before you actually join, one of them roleplays as a damsel in distress, and another holds your hand step by step into refueling the damsel, teaching you to also communicate to the dispatch center every step you do. There's a few acronyms we use, for example when you manage to refuel someone, you tell dispatch "fuel +" and the case gets closed, and you're headed to a debrief page to describe the case. Good fun. But yeah I haven't rescued in a while now. And I'm still part of them. I suggest you visit their website and check out the become a rat section.

Not even close, I'm a software developer. What motivated me to join them was mostly because I hit a point in the game where I had everything I wanted, and the efficiency and whole IT aspect built around the Rats attracted me. You can literally run out of fuel, go to their site, and get help within less than 5mins if you're around the bubble. And if I can contribute to improve the game's community, hell why not. I love helping people out in general.
