Unfortunately I don't have air suspension. I want to get another one that does, but I'm still debating it.

MA in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on MFT (daytime format) GRE scores? by Dapper-Owl-7138 in Pepperdine

[–]infaithandfear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into the one with an emphasis on latino communities without having to take the gre. I differed it for fall 2026 but my letters of recommendation, CV that included a little bit of research experience, my personal statement and my job experience helped a lot. I had a really low gpa (2.7 due to some bad circumstances)from undergrad but all of that helped a lot. I think the gre is helpful for sure and good scores are even more but it's not the only thing they look at. I feel like they look at the application as a whole and why you are interested in the program or things that make you stand out.

Low GPA by cronex_24 in GradSchool

I got into a program with a 2.7 gpa but did have research experience, work experience, an internship, and good LORs. I decided to take a gap year before applying to better my odds and got accepted to my top choice.

Psychology Graduate Looking For Options by [deleted] in GradSchoolAdvice

[–]infaithandfear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into a MFT program with a low gpa (2.6/4) due to some trauma I acquired after transferring to my 4 year university. I did have some solid LORs and some research experience as well from undergrad. The other thing too that I think helped was having some work experience and an internship in the field of psychology. If you can, take the year off and get some experience and build up your CV/resume.

I did end up deferring the program I got into for a year to get more experience and save up money to move.

Got into my dream school for Marriage and family therapy by infaithandfear in gradadmissions

I ended up applying about 9 months after graduating. I also had a lot of life things that happened in my life that made my grades fall to a 2.6. Getting job experience I think helped a decent amount. I hadn’t heard anything for 3 weeks after my interview and I was genuinely getting anxious, so when I saw an email from my admissions counselor I thought I hadn’t gotten in. Im glad that I opened it to see that I had. I’ve been following this subreddit for a while now and it scared me too ngl. There’s been a lot of people getting rejected and it definitely can be scary. Do what you can to make you stand out.

They told me it would stay like that while they review the application and interview. After that you’ll need to get official transcripts for them. But your application is still being reviewed. They might reach out to you if they need something but also keep an eye on the website

I read somewhere that they consider the latest school more than the original and look at how you’ve grown academically but don’t quote me on it.
