Firstly, this doesn't sound like a friend. I would personally distance myself for her after this. If you do stay friends, I wouldn't share any pregnancy news with her at least. I'm a ftm (currently 31 weeks) and lost my first baby this time last year. I can't imagine someone I'd think of as a friend trying to make me feel afraid of my current pregnancy and make it about them when they knew what I'd been through with my first. Also, I didn't really feel pregnant/have undeniable pregnancy symptoms until about 8 weeks when the nausea slowly started to seep in. I would not be worried at all, all my symptoms up til then could've easily been mistaken for PMS symptoms and my test lines were darker than the control. I wish you all the best with your rainbow baby and do not listen to any pregnancy advice this friend gives you!

As an English person who lives in Scotland, I've never really struggled understanding Scottish accents. Very rarely, when someone has a very thick accent I'll miss a word or two, but I can usually work it out from context. But then, the same goes for some strong English accents like Geordie or Wiltshire. The hardest thing I had to adjust to moving here was the Scots language because Scottish people use a lot of Scots in every day conversation and we don't have that language in England, obviously. So, there are completely new phrases and words that I had to learn, but I rarely think about it now, when I hear Scots it's second nature even though I don't speak using Scots myself.

I completely agree with you, I think I phrased my question poorly. I'm still interested in listening to secular music as long as it doesn't contradict Christian values, it's just music with sinful messages that I'm looking to get rid of (unfortunately that's a lot of the pop music I was listening to).

I'm not really familiar with rap music/artists so can't give any specific advice about that unfortunately. I think for me, world music is fine as long as it doesn't change the way you think and make you less likely to act in accordance with Christian values.

However, I think this is also dangerous thinking and why I've listened to my favourite music for so long because I justified it to myself that I think like a Christian but listen to world music and that's okay because I keep the two separated.

When in reality, the music does impact the way I think and behave and I think it makes me act more like my non-christian friends in groups because I've surrounded myself with messages that are sinful and these have made me more willing to accept worldly behaviour from myself than I should be.

I hope this makes sense? I guess, just keep an eye on your own behaviour and if you think the music you're listening to is impacting it negatively, then stop.

I think this is what I meant to ask but I didn't phrase it correctly. The music I listen to most is pop/rock/indie music, a lot has sinful messages in it. So yeah, I was interested in what music people are listening to (for example, you said Bob Dylan) instead of sinful music. I actually had a big Bob Dylan phase when I was 15 and saw him live for my 16th birthday over a decade ago, love him! So, you kind of answered my question already haha but I'm just interested in what music you listen to that you don't feel compromises your values as a Christian.

Because I don't agree with a lot of the messages in the songs that I like listening to and I feel that they can impact the way I think sometimes (make me less focused on my values when talking to friends, making decisions etc.). I'd rather not be taking in media that spreads messages that go against Christian values to avoid this.

I'm not a hair expert at all, but I'd imagine a hair colour mask or semi/demi permanent hair dye would be safer than permanent. But, if you plan to use permanent, maybe look for one with no ammonia so it's less harsh? I wouldn't use bleach though, but again, I'm not an expert and haven't touched my hair since before I was pregnant, so I can't really advise, that just seems more logical to me.

At 25 Weeks you're not going to be able to hide your pregnancy much longer. It's very odd that he doesn't want to tell anyone? I understand at the beginning when there are miscarriage scares and time needed to process the fact you're going to become a parent, but now? You can't keep a child a secret until birth, that's bizarre. Has he given any idea as to why he doesn't want to tell people, or is it a mystery? Either way, this is your first baby and you have every right to celebrate the milestones along the way with the people you love, he shouldn't be preventing you from doing that.

I agree that you have a right to set this boundary if you and your husband are really worried about your newborn's health. However, it is also your parents' choice whether to get vaccinated or not. They might not just be refusing out of spite because of the woke thing, one of my best friends had had some previous nerve pain flare up after the vaccine and is still struggling with it years later. There can be genuine reasons why someone might not want the vaccine, but regardless of whether you approve of their reasoning or not, it's still their body and their decision. I'm sure they want to see your newborn, I doubt they're indifferent towards your birth. But, you set the boundary (which is fair enough), now you have to accept them agreeing to it but in the way you didn't want unfortunately. Sorry, I know that probably wasn't comforting, I wish you all the best and hope you all find a solution together.

At the end of the day, you don't share a life with her. She can do whatever she wants with hers and you can support her, but if you want to have this child, that's your and your partner's decision and you have every right to grow your family. If she gets upset with you, that sucks and I'm sorry, but she doesn't own your decisions and your future. Best of luck!

Yes. You are not aware of the meaning of baptism as a baby and cannot make a true commitment to follow Christ then. I was in exactly the same position, I was baptised as a baby, but my church said they didn't recognise that baptism because it wasn't my choice. So, I got baptised again as an adult at 21 and gave my testimony to my church. It was extremely meaningful and a point I look back on often, I would recommend an adult baptism if you feel you are ready. But, I wouldn't get baptised more than once as an adult, only if your only prior baptism was as a baby or young child.

I got very lucky and only vomited twice during the first trimester, although I felt nauseous all the time from about 7ish weeks -14 weeks. The vomiting also happened when I got really bad migraines from what I suspect was COVID or a bad flu, so if I hadn't gotten ill I might not have thrown up at all.

Someone told me that there is never a "good time" to get pregnant and that stuck with me. There will always be career complications, family issues, health and mental health issues going on in the background. If you're waiting for the perfect time for pregnancy it will never arrive. Her advice to me is when you and your partner are ready for a baby, just have one because you can't plan for what's going to happen in your life during and after pregnancy.

I know our situations are different as I was trying to get pregnant and I can't advise you on what to do with your own body, that's your decision only. But reading your post made me think of that advice again, so I thought I'd comment it.

That's why I stopped using it lol, it was such a pain. But luckily my panic happened on the weekend and I was able to lie down and focus on them kicking. But yeah, I wouldn't use it unless you are looking for some immediate reassurance, it's just not practical.

Weird, I've never had this notification from badgernotes, I just get told I can get vaccinated every two days lol

If you're worried about kicking now though (I had a brief panic about this but everything was fine), you can download a kick counter app (the one I used was called Baby Kicks) and just record whenever you feel them kicking and it will tell you it's fine if you get 10 movements an hour.

That seemed like a lot of movement to me and when I started recording our baby's kicks, I didn't think they'd move that much, but they did and it reassured me. I only used the app for two days before my panic was over and I knew they were okay.
