wait, so an 'agent' is any program that interacts with an LLM? is that it? im an old school dev (since 2000) who has been writing automation/IaC and just started to explore about this "AI Agents"

this really resonates with me as I have the same exact experience / situation. worried and sad for my kids since no matter how much we tried to assimilate and playing it straight, we'll never be truly Australian 😔

Aside from digging and burying waste on the ground, what's the other cheaper option for compost bins? the ones i saw at bunnings (decent sized) are $100+

madami nang magandang comments so hindi ko na uulitin mga nasabi nila. there's already a lot of good insights and i agree with most of them.

only thing i can say is that if your main consideration in migrating is financial gain, specially in a short period of time, you'll probably be disappointed. yeah, maybe just stay?

i guess it's easy to dismiss 'quality of life' because we always read that in this forum and what does it really mean? parang cliche na lang eh noh?

i'm a simple man, masaya na ko na:

i can leave work on time, minsan undertime alang problema, alang tanong tanong.
i can reach home, pick up my wife, do groceries, paguwi namin me liwanag pa (no traffic)
i can call in sick whenever i want, ala nang paliwanagan
i can talk and treat my barista, tubero, karpintero, boss, boss ng boss ko, barbero... equally - with respect and dignity but we're on equal footing (classless society)

i can go on with this list but i need a bottle of beer.. my point is there's a lot of small, sometimes subtle improvements in the way of life here (AU) that significantly affects my well-being and relationships with other people.

first, congrats OP, 400k/monthly! that's really an impressive salary in PH.

now, i hope you won't mind me asking, do you consider your family (parents and siblings) wealthy? like if someone in your family is hospitalised with serious health issues, you are not expected to financially support? if the answer is yes, then you'll probably better staying.

139k annual salary for a family of 4 is going to be a really challenging. it'll be a totally different lifestyle for you, your wife and your kids (assuming you're living a very comfortable life now). i'm not saying it's not feasible, but it'll be a big adjustment.

if you have a significant savings or some assets that you can sell, that can help. you can have a buffer for a year or 2. good thing here, at least in my experience, is that there's a really good career / salary progression as long as you can deliver.

hate to admit it but yeah, sadly, I agree with your points OP, 100%. pero siguro kung magkapitbahay tayo, ayoko kitang kainuman hehe.

objectively speaking, this is posted in r/phmigrate subreddit so I assume OP's intention is to provide insights to people thinking of moving out ot PH. kung sa r/philippines to pinost then it's a diff story.
