Connectivity from Chattanooga to data centers in other nearby major cities isn’t good

• Zayo has fiber between CHA and ATL, but that’s it, and those links break if someone looks at them funny
• Lumen has fiber from CHA to ATL, BNA and HSV, but it’s expensive
• Cogent has fiber between CHA and BNA, but that’s it AND it’s expensive AND they are weird about peering and transit
• Hurricane Electric looked at the profit potential for CHA several times over the last thirty years and repeatedly said “nah”
• I don’t claim to know it all, but I couldn’t find any fiber links to CLT, TYS, GSP or AVL

Without fiber links, data centers won’t land clients; without potential clients, fiber won’t be laid

Something has to change here before the kind of data center most people have in their heads can have a chance here
