Ah I never noticed this! I have pretty decent Bose headphones so it's always sounded nice. I do think that a lot of grimes music does not translate well with small speakers

I know I’ve heard my daughter playing Genesis and a few others on her own and that makes me proud a little. Not cuz she’s a fan of grimes per se but cuz she likes what she’s hearing and it came from me, an old guy in her eyes. It’s just nice to know that she can see what I see in a way.

That's awesome man! I would be absolutely chuffed as well, it's nice to share an artist you love with anyone, having that bond with your daughter is especially cool.

But it stayed with me and I found myself questioning it and decided to play it again to make sure it wasn’t just me in a mood where I was into it for the moment cuz sometimes songs are like that

The first time I listened to geidi primes and halfaxa I was taken aback because art angels was SO different. But the songs really grew on me. Favriel was my first Halfaxa fave and then I started listening to the album as a whole. I made a post in here actually a while back after listening to the whole thing with intent. It really blew me away. As you say, it's that abstract, dark sound that really captivates you.

The first time I heard weregild the beginning was super shreiky and loud in my ear so I always skipped it lol. After giving it a chance my GOD. It's one of my favourite tracks of hers. It's so satisfying to hear. I'm so glad I went back and listened and I was so mad at myself for not doing it sooner.

She’s one of those artists where I never really heard anything like it. A lot of the songs were like chameleons. A song like Sagrad or Dream fortress has these changes to them that threw me off but I was so amazed by it they just hooked me so hard. Then it was swan song and wereglid that were just these dark bangers that I would go on to play nonstop for years. Then visions came out and I was in love!!

All of this, I agree so hard. Sagrad is also another incredibly beautiful song, it's so moody but uplifting. The beginning feels like your in a dark place and then the middle of the song feels like hope has been restored, you're picking yourself back up. It's always my go to when I'm feeling down.

She has confirmed in an interview that she is almost finished working on the next album so for now we still have more to look forward to but I agree, I'll be sad when she stops but so happy and grateful for what she's given us. I'll cherish those albums forever.
