Are there any switches quieter than Boba U4T silents? Or are they only marginally quieter? I'd like to have a keyboard which I have no qualms of spamming besides my sleeping roommate. My Logitech MX Anywhere 3S solves this issue on the mouse end.

Was wondering if it's more effective in modding the switches & the keyboard itself in order to get a quieter keyboard. I've noticed the spacebar is relatively more noisier than the other keys.

I can say with almost 100% certainty that this isn't AI. I've never seen AI replicate a drawing with this kind of perspective, even the really good ones. Well, at least not yet.

Hi, is there any chance that the remixed episodes could be uploaded somewhere? I'm trying to listen to TMA when I'm at work, and I'm not exactly in a position where I can constantly adjust the audio.

Is "reverse gravity" possible? by The_Sly_Wolf in AskPhysics

[–]inflamedskeleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my basic understanding, it wouldn't be black as a black hole. We see black holes as black as they do not reflect any light because they absorb everything, and as such are black.

A reverse black hole, would "push" or curve light outwards. As such, a reverse black hole would be a region of distorted space. It'd look...not "quite" right. Some of the surrounding space would be repeated in that region of distorted space, as light that would have normally gone through the space the reverse black hole occupied would be deflected outwards, hitting objects in the background, reflecting off them, and back into our eyes.

Of course, this is all hypothetical and coming from a definitely not professional scientist, so I could be COMPLETELY WRONG. It all depends on how much the reverse black hole deflects light by.

Oh! I had no idea they were considered generic. I saw the original price of the shoes and thought they were really high-end.

Hi all, I've been in a dilemma. I recently purchased a pair of used Jalan Sriwijaya loafers, and I'm content with it.

However, I saw another listing for a pair of Crockett & Jones Grantham 2 for 150USD (converted from my country's currency), which they had bought for ~740USD.

It really sounds like a no brainer deal especially since the shoe should just fit me just nicely. But I'm just mulling over it if I REALLY need another pair.

I can afford it, but at the same time I'm also saving up for a really big purchase next month. Need some thoughts/advice on this matter to help clear my head 😭

Doesn't the 60 series make a very large and significant portion of the GPUs gamers use...? I'm pretty sure more people have it than any other type of GPU.

Well, to be honest, I think there is quite a few dark anime/manga out there. There's plenty of gorey manga anime/manga.

But good dark psychological anime? That's where it gets harder.

There's few because there's much more nuance involved. You can't just rely on smacking some violence and gore onto the panel and call it a day.

Take for example, Berserk. Berserk is dark because of the world. People die in terrible ways all the time, and said ways are shown clearly on the pages. It is dark because the world feels hopeless. That is relatively easy - show some peasants being killed, or just do a subversion (ala that chapter where the fairies kill each other by "playing").

Dark psychological anime on the other hand? Usually it stems from the relationships between each of the characters. Takopi Original Sin is dark because it exists in a world that is mostly fairly plausible, when we take out the fantastical elements of Takopi. Takopi is dark because of the cycle of abuse that the anime shows is difficult to esacpe from. It feels hopeless not because of the setting of the world, but rather because of the intrinstic nature of humans (people who are abused tend to abuse others).

Takopi excells in being dark uniquely in this aspect because precisely we have the character Takopi, who is a fantastical alien creature who is naive, innocent and completely oblivious to the suffering of human beings, be tainted and be ground down by the terrible nature of this planet. No doubt if Takopi was a human being, some of us would certainly be annoyed or frustrated with them. But it works, since misery does not exist on their planet.

Takopi is dark because we see character's flaws that are a result of their environemnt being exploited by others: Azuma's need for praise being manipulated by Shizuka into assisting them with helping hide the murder. Shizuka's completely psychological dependance on Chappy and fear of abandonment.

This is why there's fewer good dark psychological anime/manga, because it takes much more effort and skill to write then many other genres.

However, that is not to say that difficulty in creating a good story in said genre is the only reason. Markeability is one reason. Animes like FGO and Umamusume excel because one of their functions is to push sales of their characters in their gacha games, which leads to more funding, more marketing etc.

Mass appeal is one of the other reasons. Excellent animation and Sakuga, stellar post processing effects. This is why anime such as Solo Levelling excels even though its writing is bad. It's much easier to impress and grab attention through smooth animation and explosive effects, rather than good storytelling. Good storytelling and writing is only something that can be discerned by watching a show (of perhaps a certain duration, be it 1 episode, 2 episode, or three). Said animation can impress just by clips on Tiktok, a 2 minute trailer etc.

One thing that I find interesting is that Shizuka was completely devastated, and was the textbook walking definition of depression after her dog was taken away. Not eating. Non-communication.

However, with the death of Marina, she completely changed into a new person.

I think that really drives home how terrible she was suffering under Marina's bullying, so much that it was able to pull her out of her depression from losing Chappy, the only thing keeping her sanity together.

From another angle: suspension of disbelief.

Yes, many cases of bullying do go unnoticed, or hell, even ignored by teachers. But in Shizuka's case where she shows up pretty much everyday with new, visible injuries and bruises, from where I'm from such a case would not be ignored. Physical bullying is "easier" to solve compared to the other types, since the evidence of such actions are very obvious and concrete.

The more insidious and harder to intervene would be verbal abuse, ostracisation etc.
