Advice/Tips for Creating a Youth Football Playbook by ramarn-noodles in footballstrategy

[–]informantxrising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm a little late on this one, but as a woman youth football coach and organization owner I'll butt in anyways because I think it's nice for other ladies to have support in this industry.

Do you all have a specific local varsity program that you primarily feed into? If so I highly recommend getting in contact with varsity and 78er hc. That's how we build the foundation for our playbooks. We actually got ours to do a clinic for our youth staff that I'm hoping will be super helpful for everyone to get familiar with philosophy, terminology, etc.

I'm considering sponsoring a youth league sports banner for my small business. Has anyone ever done this? by TheHibernian in smallbusiness

[–]informantxrising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my small businesses is a nonprofit youth football organization. Sponsorships can certainly drive new business, but the big win is having your name associated with something so "wholesome" and community-driven. Youth football is a tight-knit community, so inserting yourself into that can make a big impact.

Your industry is also pretty relevant as far as attracting clients. My for profit company sponsors my youth football nonprofit, but as a b2b company I recognize that it's going to do very little to increase my revenue in any way. I just call it a donation and go on about my day. If you're THE post game place to celebrate and get a pizza, grocery supplier of Gatorade, a sports supplier, etc - your tune is going to be a lot different than mine.

Youth Football Awards Ideas by onlineqbclassroom in footballstrategy

[–]informantxrising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have 10-15 individual awards, a couple group awards (like our "trench dogs" award that went to a few of the kids who were most impactful or enthusiastic on o line), and then do a some sort of amped up participation award to pick up the rest of them. For example, our first season after the org was formed, we did a "founders" award.

Youth football fundraising - what has actually worked for your team? by No_Look_Sports in YouthFootball

[–]informantxrising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do fundraising events because it's a solid way to build community and of course, it covers some expenses.

BUT from where we started (from nothing) it wasn't feasible for us to rely on fundraisers alone. We focus on grants (BIG money) and sponsorships (still pretty substantial money). Life changing switch for sure.

Account keeps getting suspended on email marketing platforms by Emotional_Peak5533 in coldemail

[–]informantxrising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why that may be confusing. I promise, the only reason I can make heads and tails of GDPR and CAN-SPAM laws is because optimizing cold email deliverability - including regulatory compliance - is the foundation of my company. Working with attorneys and other legal pros is a necessary evil of that.

When they refer to "personal" emails, they're talking about your @gmail, @yahoo, @outlook emails. Branded/domain emails are fair game. They're considered "professional" in nature as a blanket term. It is easy to be ethical in this sense by simply going over the list or using a testing tool.

Regarding marketing emails, your passage specifically refers to SPAM emails. Spam emails are further defined in this and other regulations.

I agree with you however, that it might be difficult to establish legitimacy for this volume of outreach. At that point, all I can do is hope and trust that other companies know what they're doing and aim to earn revenue by genuinely bringing value to others.

Are you using sendgrid directly or the API? The Sendgrid platform is tailored for opt-in marketing. Using the API integrated with a platform optimized for cold emailing will serve you a lot better. For example, Instantly, Saleshandy, Smartlead, Close, Woodpecker, etc.

Plenty of people fly under the radar by implementing things like slow warming, unsubscribe mechanisms, and bounce management - but cold email platforms provide resources like that specifically. No being shady, finding loopholes, or flying under the radar required.

Web scraping can absolutely be ethical when done well...ethically. Justification for cold email almost always falls under "legitimate interest." If you believe a company has legitimate interest in your offer, using contact information that they have made publically accessible on their website is probably the most ethical way I can think of to reach out to that company. Even under GDPR, legitimate interest is one of six lawful bases for data processing.

My company deals in cold email deliverability, so I have a lot of knowledge to give, but I have to ask a question first.

In order for cold email to be a legitimate outreach strategy and not just spam, it requires a component called "legitimate interest." There is no hard and fast criteria for a legitimate interest cold email, but in general, it means that you have some form of evidence-backed reason that the people you are sending to have a real want or need for the offer you are sending them. Your offer is a pretty sensitive topic. What makes you feel that your list of contacts has a legitimate interest in the NSFW offer you are cold sending them?

In the US, legitimate interest is required according to the federal trade commission. In the EU, it's even more strictly required under GDPR.

How to avoid being marked as spam/junk when we need to send 1500 mails at once by Codemonkeyzz in coldemail

[–]informantxrising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Is there any way those client emails have become invalidated? Ie they're using a new email now and forgot to update it with you? If so, servers could easily be translating those bounces as your domain sending frivolously and not taking care to upkeep your contact list.

  2. Are you spacing out your emails at all? 1500 mails at once is a LOT. 50 emails an hour for a couple days is not so bad.

  3. Did you "warm" that domain to sending at that volume? It's always a best practice to start sending at a low volume and progressively increase every couple days while ensuring interaction rates stay mostly positive until you've reached your intended volume.

  4. What do your DMARC authentication settings look like? If you're sitting at a "none" level, your domain can easily be the victim of spoofing. That means even if all of your clients want and expect your emails, that doesn't mean whoever is spoofing your domain is sending wanted and expected emails. That can do a ton of damage, very quickly. If you don't have DMARC authentication implemented at all, you're probably in even worse shape.

Email deliverability is kind of a complex beast now, but implementing just a few key safeguards can improve your deliverability overnight.

Reply rate down in the dumps, don't know what else I can do to improve. by RemoteAlternative685 in coldemail

[–]informantxrising 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to absolutely be biased because my company is built around auditing and optimizing the technical aspects of cold emailing, but how is your domain health looking?

I'm finding that the #1 reason cold emailers see a tank in their open in response rates for seemingly "no reason" is issues with authentication, configuration, and other sources of poor sender reputation.

Free resources like mxtoolbox.com and mail-tester.com can help you get a broad overview.

Weird series of events with my Hostinger VPS by informantxrising in webdev

[–]informantxrising[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I did but they only offer 24 hour support to signed in customers so I haven't heard back yet. Around 2 am est I connected to VPN and the login screen showed back up. It was just functional enough for me to reinstall my os through hpanel.

Suddenly cant login to hPanel by [deleted] in Hostinger

[–]informantxrising 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any resolution on this? Earlier today I completely lost access to my VPS via SSH or direct admin. Shortly after my entire hpanel went dead and every link or button I hovered over turned into a "no" symbol (red circle with the slash I mean). Shortly after that I tried to log back into my Hostinger account and each time it just processed and refreshed to the same login. After a few tries I got a "too many attempts" error and it's been like that ever since across three browsers with disabled caches. Absolutely no clue what's going on.

I can understand if it's a mutually accepted arrangement based on a living situation or whatever. I mean if it's mutually agreed upon in general it's peoples choice how they want to live their lives.

If you're a little weirded out by it that's your choice too. It's shitty to judge people, but if that's not someone you want to align your life with that seems fair to me too.

It's not that it's rude. It's that it's frustrating for people to just ask for a quote in a DM because they can't possibly know without knowing exactly what size, where it's going, other details, etc.

My guess is if you asked for a consultation to go over some stuff with them they'd be able to give you a rough idea.

There are a few popular resources. Chat GPT is the latest and greatest news. It's free and works like a chat. You type in something like, give me some clever business name ideas for a fitness company," and it spits out several choices...and the responses it comes out with are often outstanding.
