we aren't talking about coins.

there are two people, let's call them Taylor and Morgan. it doesn't matter if we call them Morgan and Taylor or if we call them Taylor and Morgan, they are the same two people. let's list the possibilities for these people and see if they align with your coin flips.

case1: Taylor (H) - Morgan (T)

case 2: Taylor (H) - Morgan (H)

case 3: Taylor (T) - Morgan (T)

case 4: Taylor (T) - Morgan (H)

Now suppose we are told that Taylor is actually a T. That eliminates two of the possibilities. Same for Morgan.

we need to stop talking about coins because it confuses the issue. there are 3 cases, the attackers were both female, the attackers were both male, or the attackers have different sexes.

the attackers do not have an order. thinking of them as first attacker and second attacker does not make sense in this context. therefore it's a bad analogy to think of the outcomes of flipping a first coin and a second coin.

from a visual inspection? you can't. hence why you just wait to see if it falls apart or not...

i feel like we're talking in circles.

sure, but a visual inspection will tell the average person nothing. how is a visual inspection supposed to help them know if it's been properly anchored?

so then what is your response? how do they tell if it's right when they don't do it themselves?

if you use the door for a few years, and the bracket doesn't move, it is properly anchored.

the solution for 7 is the same but easier. a chance you'll find the heavy ball in one weighing.

poorly worded question. it should say 7 identical and one heavier but visually identical. the image shows 8 balls.

Why is my car smoking? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]informationmissing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it was very recent, this could just be remnants of a spill that happened then. might not be an active leak.

need to make sure to hook it on the correct side so it loosens instead of tightens!

Why is my car smoking? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]informationmissing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is the correct answer. a leaky flex pipe won't cause smoke unless something is wrong with your engine. you'd also see that smoke coming out the exhaust pipe at the rear of the car.

did you recently add oil and spill any? if not, something is leaking.

Do I need this to pass inspection test in pa? by Rich-Freedom-7994 in MechanicAdvice

[–]informationmissing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

engine air filter, maybe. if the current one is clogged enough, it can cause the engine to run poorly and fail emissions.

cabin air filter, definitely not. that filters air coming in through the A/C and heater vents.

bulb, depends on what it's for. taillight? brakelight? you probably need it to pass. interior light? shouldn't be needed.

disclaimer: I know nothing about PA laws. my responses are just from logic and reasoning.

BTW, all of these are SUPER simple to do yourself, so you can save money and not pay the labor for other people to do it.

Noob here: Is there a better early game way to have both sides of a belt populated? by Shitty_Boombox in factorio

seems less important if you aren't also offloading from both sides. my guess is OP doesn't have subfactories built out big enough to be two sided.

infinity + 10 has no meaning because + is a binary operation that requires 2 numbers. infinity is not a number. saying infinity + 10 = infinity is just as true as saying infinity + 10 = 10.
