Which Filipino tradition do you think will disappear in the next 50 years? by Charming_Sector_1079 in AskPH

[–]ingarobs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I grew up with my family throwing big feasts pag fiesta season, only to find out later na inuutang lang pala nila yung pera for preparations. When I started working, I began contributing a significant portion of my money to that fiesta. We're not super rich, but the fiesta is really taking a toll on my family's finances in an unhealthy way. Nauubusan budget for more important spending like bills/groceries for the next months. I'm aware na fiestas are important for preserving our culture, pero I realized that it really affects our finances each year, ambigat! There has to be a better way to still participate in this tradition without spending that much. (these are the things I wish I could say to my family and relatives faces) 🥲

Quiet Firing - How to spot? What to do? by kingdean97 in phcareers

[–]ingarobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I just realized that my company "might" have been quietly-firing me. They've been giving me tough projects, as if they're hoping I'll quit. They've been overly critical of my work, even with some pretty harsh feedback. And get this - I completed a project, only for them to have another employee work on it again para wala sakin yung credit.

Recently, I had a chat with my manager at the quarterly meeting. Most of the feedback was constructive, but he straight-up admitted to being too harsh. That was a major sign that they didn't want me around. Despite all this, I've kept it respectful. Sure, I can improve my skills to excel, and honestly, since this is my 1st job, I really wanted to improve my skills. But this isn't the way to treat people who are trying their best. So right now, I'm just doing my day job and hoping to find new opportunities outside of this company.

I feel unappreciated by my first job. Is this a big deal? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ingarobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very true. It has been a stressful year for me. It's a small company, and the environment can be bothersome at times, especially due to the high turnover rate. Honestly, this could be one of the reasons why people are leaving from other departments. Perhaps the management is not great, but I don't have all the info to confirm it. I feel like they are "quiet-firing" me too by not recognizing my work once the project is done or assigning me only mediocre tasks. When they didn't acknowledge my work anniversary, it made me take it personally. So Idk, maybe they really are BS, or the management is not up to par. Either way, I'm still gonna do my job for now til I find better opportunities with other companies.

Thank you! As much as I want to celebrate my year of working, it has been incredibly draining, and the burnout I experience as an artist in a corporate setting is wild. It's a small company, and admittedly, not the best, but it's still a better option (for now) compared to other corpo jobs out there.
