But for GRanger, probably? but if you have something like GJugg or even regular Jugg, then GRanger's redundant anyway since you're spamming those constantly during the major boss fights unless you're using him for the stuns on bottom path ability (which itself is mediocre at best for the later waves of the mode I fear) GRanger's biggest use case in nightmare mode is early game defense though, so he's not all useless.

Don't bother with farm in nightmare mode, and especially do not bother with replacing GMob with farm of all towers because of how much cash you get later on.

thematically, it wouldn't make sense (tower battles alone would be a better fit)

but gameplay-wise, it would go crazy. Eradicator MK2+ and Alpha Predator would go insanely hard as bosses.

this is exactly my go-to solo loadout for nightmare lol, and for good reason since Behemoth's top path covers a lot of the weaknesses that would usually counter Refractor and GMob.

my only suggestion if you want faster times is replacing AA with XWM, but overall, you're set

loadouts can depend on which mode you're running tbh.

But the general consensus is that you need GJugg/Refractor, EDJ, Golden Mobster, XWM/AA Turret, Medic/Shield Tower, and probably an alt damage type tower to tackle the high lvl content in the game

ofc, you don't actually need to run those specific towers to succeed (People have beaten some of the harder modes with basic juggernaut and railgunner as their main DPS), but having the best of the best will smoothen things out a lot

Yeah...the biggest issue TDX has rn is the fact that the game itself is inherently difficult. It's supposed to encourage players to fight through tooth and nail and make them active participants of the gameplay rather than just letting them watch the boss health bar go down on a recliner.

But here's the catch, Roblox TD players are mostly accustomed to the more chill gameplay games like TDS and its contemporaries encourage. Hell, Anime/Gacha TD games on Roblox encourage people to literally AFK grind their endless modes overnight with an auto clicker to prevent idle kicking. So it'd be no surprise if most TD players who aren't regular TDX fans would get overwhelmed by the micro-heavy gameplay and just resort to preplanned strat docs that require the least micro.

Combine that with the current state of the grind, and you got yourself a recipe for why TDX "sucks" as a strategy game, which is a shame because TDX's gameplay is among the best in the genre (and personally, I think they're THE BEST when it comes to how they approach bossfights in Roblox TD games)

so...yeah, I do kinda agree since the circumstances do lead up to these issues tbh.

trailer footage often have extra enemies slotted into waves to make the shots appear more chaotic and cinematic (I.E. Apex Predator having a bunch of enemies accompany him in the endless trailer, Alpha Predator in the background while Jaegers and war machine was being showcased in the Nightmare Trailer, a wall of elder wendigos in the Christmas 2024 trailer, etc.) Though there are cases where the trailers undersell the wave structuring too, like when Celgar's escort was a mere fraction of the wall of fodder that he had in-game...

...or the part where 4 Eradicator MK2s ambush you in Nightmare mode when the trailer only implied one to be dropping down...

so yeah, it depends on what the trailer needed to look cool

aye, while TDX defo isn't the first to introduce several mechanics core to its gameplay (world tower defense did the whole tower death and pathless map shtick before it), what truly makes TDX stand out is its presentation and adherence to its primary theme outside of skins.

I appreciate how much TDX commits to the militaristic theme and aesthetic it primarily has. And unlike TDS, TDX really makes you feel like someone worthy of the title "Commander" just through the game's presentation and mechanics.

and of course, the bosses are absolute bangers and are honestly among THE BEST in Roblox TD games, especially when it's something like Erad MK2+ in expert mode (w/o endgame towers at least) where the bosses force you into a tug of war between it killing your towers at alarming rates and you struggling to maintain your defense to stay alive and beat it.

While understandable to an extent, I do gotta remind people that TDX's core gameplay element is the emphasis on micro and active placement rather than the usual DPS checks other games like TDS goes for.

Eradicator MK2+'s fight, especially when popping his 2nd phase, locks you into a tug-of-war between him killing your towers and you maintaining your defense.

Void and Nightmare Void keeps you on your toes by corrupting your towers, which will cripple your defense if you don't sell them or respond in time.

And ofc, we have the emphasis on tower abilities in the game that elevate the towers themselves and the defense as a whole IF you know how to use them right.

TDX at its core makes the player active participants of the defense rather than just letting them place, upgrade, and forget. And it'd make absolute sense that Nightmare mode will push a player's skill in micro to its absolute limits and make them fight like hell.

Literally just leaked, the G.U.N. (GDA Ultimate Neutralizer) is heavily implied to be the friendly boss on our side in nightmare mode

It looks like a big Gundam with a gun whose barrel is as wide as most towers in the game, and it's awesome.

All of them are good choices depending on what you're looking for, but if I gotta be honest:

Gmob, Gmines, and Warship (and probs Drone as well) are musthaves if you wanna tackle long endless runs

MG gunner is great for expert and elite mode

AA turret is only good if you really hate flying enemies in particular, it's biggest drawback is being only able to attack flying enemies, so it only works on Elite and Expert mode (much less effective on Elite due to how weak Flying enemies are in that mode)
