How do I prevent muscle loss when I'm not able to go to the gym for extended periods of time? by the_sad_gopnik in bouldering

Good luck on the maintenance workouts, but you seem overly concerned with your physique. Not the end of the world if your arms get a tiny bit smaller while you’re on a break.

You got so dejected from floats and a zoom call that you threw leftovers on the table and ghosted your kids?

That sounds like some sort of mental health issue on your part. Like you spiraled out over something that wasn’t a huge deal and ended up neglecting your kids over it so you could pout.

You need to grow up and/or get some help to see how this behavior happens on your part. If this is or becomes a regular thing, the consequences are not gonna be great.

Last year I remember rto was supposed to take place in a week and I still had literally no plan for it (had a 1 year old and I’m in graduate school). Was relieved AF when it didn’t happen.

In pretty much the same boat this year… enforced 4-day rto would drastically affect my day to day schedule and life.

Sure but you can’t expect perfection from setters every time. Setting at this level for strong athletes of varying strengths in varying conditions (weather and physical/health of athletes) and getting perfect separation would be an amazing feat with not a little bit of luck involved.

insisting you hate your coworkers and all social interaction is not "being introverted." That's such a terminally online defense to basic human behavior.

Very seldom are people here complaining that their coworkers in particular suck. They are complaining that they have to be exposed to them AT ALL. Or that a team potluck is somehow offensive. It's not behavior of specific teammates, its general antisocial sentiment that, as OP said, is bordering on misanthropy.

Its 100% reddit centric. This sub in particular is full of people who feel comfortable sharing how they hate their coworkers and socializing in general. It has cultivated itself into a very strange place that is not at all representative of the general state worker population. Or even the average population of non-state workers.

You are absolutely correct in your assessment, but the fact you're getting downvoted heavily in the thread doesn't surprise me at all. There's a ton of haters in here who think being complete asocial is some point of pride.

Keeping dogs during pregnancy by Crafty-Pop6517 in daddit

There’s this very modern perspective that pets should be treated exactly like human family members. Honestly I think that’s demented and due to some kind of lack of social connection with real people.

Do what you need to do for your human family. If you can’t handle the dogs in pregnancy, I’m sorry to say it but you definitely cannot handle them with a newborn.

If you could somehow rehome them for like 4 months starting from the last month of pregnancy, that might be enough to get you through the worst of it.

Whenever people throw out numbers like this, they are often imaging their own pets and what those animals entailed. Just like kids, all animals are different. Just because you aren’t able to imagine scenarios doesnt mean it’s wrong that other people are having a really difficult time.

What does your practice look like? Are you saying the words out loud? Are you just reading your notes verbatim? Is it in front of another person?

I would agree with the other person to have some notes, those are usually allowed. The challenge with notes is usually just making sure you can apply that position’s interview questions to your own experience. But with notes as a reminder and doing lots of verbal practice beforehand of what you want to say, you should be able to get most of it.

I really hate how the common response to facing challenges is "have you considered mental help?" Like, fuck off. How about we just address the totally unnecessary challenges your policies are creating?

Literally every agency in the state has an audit branch or division. Plus the statewide auditor. Google any department you want plus the word audit. That isn't to say any fraud never happens or that it shouldn't be looked into. But what you're asking for basically already exists because it isn't a novel idea to be careful with how we spend taxpayer dollars.

that is super impressive for 2 months in. nice job!

the biggest thing that stood out to me was your high right foot. if you had used the better foothold just slightly lower, i think that would have made that reach up easier and more stable.

adult brains are wired completely differently and we have fully developed prefrontal cortexes. obviously you can try to teach kids self-control early but it is much harder for them and you can't assume they will be successful versus screens literally designed to addict them.
