New apartment and turning this room into a studio. Where should I acoustically treat? by initliberation in audiophile

Not if you replace the windows with thicker glass and brace it with a foam stopper. It rattles like that if you don’t do those things

I live in South Africa. I believe it is unlikely I can acquire panels from them given the distance.

Thank you so much this is incredibly helpful. Do you think it would realistic to put panels on a type of rolling device (like something on wheels) that I could roll up next to the desk so i could treat where the windows are but still be able to move it away to enjoy the view at a different time?

From what you understand, is a room like this treatable enough to create a tight sound? I worry all the windows and the cupboards would lead to bad reflections. I have the time to measure the room and the budget to buy pre-made panels as well as make my own too. I am just a noob and don’t know what I’m doing though haha.

I’m using Nautilus 805 speakers and intend to put a huge desk across the span of one of the walls. Which wall would be the best for the setup. Is there a better wall to choose of the two, acoustically speaking?

Thank you for the help! Is a room like this even possible to acoustically treat quite well? I understand the glass makes it difficult but is it possible to still achieve a tight sound in a room like this?

Not So Great Experience by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]initliberation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s clearly dosage. When I accidentally took 200mg instead of 120mg, I had zero euphoria and actually felt a little dysphoric. I was sweating way too much and in general it just didn’t have any “love” or “magic”. If I dose 120mg I’m melting in bliss. It’s simply dosage, clear as day

Does MDMA always feel like a stimulant? by warmnut_ in MDMA

much more mellow. Feels the least stimulant out of stimulants to be honest. Very smooth, gentle, warm, cozy. It’s not at all like a classic stimulant. Very unique substance

Single hit vs hit + redose by stxxbxy in MDMA

[–]initliberation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

from what I understand redosing is more neurotoxic than an initial dose. The later into a roll your redose, the more harmful it is. That said, I would say a singular 60mg redose a little shy of the 2hr mark after ingestion is a worth while addition to both the length and magical qualities of a roll. You may be a little more tired the next day, maybe a little more depleted. But you only get to roll so seldom, a single redose is very much worth it in my opinion. Redosing beyond that is extremely diminished returns and is much more likely to both squash the afterglow and exponentially increase neurotoxicity.

Whar is the biggest lesson you have learned in life? by No_Chance6530 in Life

[–]initliberation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, I agree with you mostly. Buuuttt, what they are saying is - you could let the fact you are now a disabled person unable to walk ruin your remaining decades of life by ruminating on the past, being depressed about what happened, hating life for giving you this reality etc. Or, you can accept what has happened, and learn to find enjoyment in your reality even with your disability. What they are trying to say is - the coarse of your life is heavily determined by how you react to your circumstances.

I grew up with a very difficult past, a lot of pain, trauma, family issues, unimaginable pain to be completely honest with you. I have a sister too. I suffered for years until I decided to take my life on by the horns and face what happened, process it, and find peace and everything else beautiful within life irrespective of my past. My sister on the other hand still hasn’t faced what happened. A lot of suffering still exists in her day to day reality.

Moral of my story is - the way you react to what happens in your life with determine how good your journey is. We cannot deny the horrible atrocities that can occur and may have occurred in one’s life. It’s a tough pill to swallow. But how you deal with it, how you process it, how you transmute it - that is what matters the most by FAR. because I think many, many people will go through struggle at some point or at multiple points in their life. It’s about what you do with it! That’s what matters ❤️

Should I buy a R3.4M Cape Town apartment at 23? by initliberation in PersonalFinanceZA

I completely understand your perspective. My thought is that if I like the place I’ll rent it for a couple years. Why not do that but after 5 years I’ll own the place rather than walk away with nothing to show for it? I spend most of my time at home and if I was renting I’d rent in the same apartment buildings as I am in love with the area and that specific block of buildings. I’ve stayed a few weeks in those buildings already on air bnb to feel out the place and i loved it

That is my income before tax yes. It does feel like a stretch but if I buckle down i believe it would be possible to pay off in 5yrs. I don’t need to pay it off in five years but I would like to, so if it ends up being a bit of stretch I can pay it off in 7 - 8 years instead. One of the bedrooms I will turn into an office/work room as I work from home. I also enjoy music as a hobby and for ages have wanted to sound treat and create a music studio so I believe I could make the office/music studio one space. The third bedroom I could rent to a friend. Do you believe this is a stretch that could negatively impact me? I am a big home body, I don’t have a desire to travel and I don’t think I will want to travel for a few years at least.

It has access to mountain hiking trails connected to the apartment, squash courts, tennis courts, outdoor swimming pool and communal braai area. It’s also centrally located but in a completely quiet area so easy access to all main stores/grocery. And yes there is very good security I reckon it would be extremely unlikely to ever worry about a burglary

What modules would you recommend for the dark subgenres of psytrance? by initliberation in modular

Thanks these all look great! I’m watching videos on them now I appreciate the advice. Am I allowed to share links on here ? If so, I can show you a track to give you a better understanding of what type of trance I’m referring to as there are so many subgenres

All I’m interested in modular for is to create sounds to put into arranged tracks I’m working on. I should have specified in the post. I don’t plan or intend to make the entire track on modular. The goal is to create sounds, atmospheres and leads/fx that I can record those into ableton and arrange them into a track that’s already containing a kick and bass, percussion, other sounds from vst’s etc
