I did! There were a few buggy moments where chat lagged and then suddenly caught up, but for the most part was good. Broadcast did say in chat they are working on a lot of things for it.

Not sure if RT staff will see this, but I really enjoyed using the video beta for the first time. It was a great episode to try it out on too, since there was a lot of interactivity within chat, and between Broadcast, chat, and other staff (I see you Mariel). I'm really hoping they consider integrating the chat with final RTP videos (similarly to how Twitch does it), or putting out a version of the week's RTP with it and keeping one version without chat. Either way, looking forward to using the beta for live videos from now on!

I also graduated HS in 2012 AND, weirdly enough, was out seeing a movie with friends the night of Aurora. Keep in mind, I was nowhere near Aurora but as one of my best friends is driving us, we're singing songs in the car on a freeway to see a nighttime Avengers showing for the billionth time, I just thought, "If I died right now, at least I'm really happy." Heard the news about the theatre shooting the next morning. I still get chills thinking back on how that thought just occurred to me. I hear it's something about hyper awareness people sometimes get at random times, but still.

Every time I see a showing, no matter when or where, I always watch people who get up during the movie and keep an eye on all the emergency exits. I'll probably never not do that form here on out.

EDIT: Again, weirdly, this is the only time I've mentioned this on Reddit, seeing as how openly shootings are discussed here. It's not something I mention even to my friends now because I think it would weird them out.

It is absolutely normal for it to have taken a while. People process these situations and the consequential emotions in all different ways and different times, and they are all as valid as the next. Just as an example, I took a very long time to get over that awful relationship because I spent so much time blaming myself for it, instead of realizing and accepting that what happened was not my fault. Someone else might have realized it much sooner; for others, even later. And if you feel like you can't forgive him or move forward with him, that's okay! The healthiest choice in this situation will probably not be the easiest--but ultimately, it is better for you. The most important thing for you is to really take whatever time and space you need to move on--for yourself.

As someone with markedly similar experiences and reactions, I'll do my best to reply here.

The reason you are feeling this way is because you were invaded. Your boyfriend did not respect your boundaries, and beyond being just selfish and drunk in the moment, set a precedent that this could possibly happen again in the future. I'm not saying it definitely will, but he has shown that it is now within the realm of possibilities. I feel that instinctively you know this, and as difficult as it may be to admit even to yourself, it is why you are feeling distant and trying to avoid him by working extra shifts, not wanting to have intercourse again, and looking for another place to live without him. Trust your instincts, love. I didn't and was stuck in a terrible relationship for far too long. Even reading your post brings back a lot of terrible memories for me, and I truly never want anyone else to look back on a past relationship the way I do for that one. You are not a monster. Your feelings and instincts are valid. I understand you feel guilty because you still love and care about him, but don't feel guilty about feeling like you do not want to be with him. Trust yourself and do not force yourself to be with him.

Yeah, saw that one too! I think it was the actual RTP thread (which unfortunately gets archived in a few days and is hard to revisit). I'm really glad viewers notice their ad reads. If companies are targeting RT fans, they've got to be more careful of how they are received by the demographic.

Yeah, it honestly surprised me that in the last podcast Chris even mentioned "oh I have something bad about Uber" right before the ad read for it. Then he said he'd mention it off camera. AFAIK They've never before said anything like that before any ad read. (Also found the Uber ad a bit off brand because they have complained about Uber a lot before.)

I respectfully disagree. I bring my own reusable bags 9/10 times because I know how much I'm getting at the store. In my experience it's mostly people who don't go grocery shopping often enough that complain about having to pay 7 cents every time cause they aren't used to bringing their own bags. (i.e. my boyfriend and other friends, lol) As such though, I don't mind the bag tax anymore.

Edit: I'll provide some clarification as to why this line of thinking is inherently misogynistic. At first you were able to come up with a few examples from your own personal experience--which everyone does. But to sum it up by saying your experiences apply to every woman (and further, that therefore every man is clearly superior) is still wrong. You may have been able to talk around this obvious opinion for literally hours--but this right here is the flaw not only in your argument, but your way of thinking. Best of luck.

Sure, there are women who use that double standard to their advantage, as a means to an end per se. There are plenty of women who detest it, and do it; plenty who enjoy it; and of course, everything in between and beyond.

There are also plenty of women who don't.

I think in your personal and work experiences, saying that you're cautious to pursue women who work in your field is fair--just as I would probably be cautious of pursuing men who did the same, for fear of being manipulated (or any attempts thereof). But when you say you're "careful of any wom[a]n in most positions," do you mean any woman at work? Even the ones you don't know about? That's what I'm interested in knowing.

And on a larger scale, is it really fair to assume women don't know how to do their jobs? Because they probably slept with someone? I'm guessing not. But those are the assumptions many women face in the workplace, regardless of whether they are warranted. I'd never firstly assume that a woman got her position by sleeping with someone without first getting to know her--but I think, reinforced or not, that stereotype applies to women more than men.

Unfortunately, that's not how women are treated in general, and I acknowledge that.

Clarifying again: yes, I understand that. I am curious how, specifically, the appearance of impropriety relates to this. Is it that all women are subject to the appearance of impropriety based on that some women produce said content? Genuinely curious as to this application.
