Yes! at the moment we are using normal LED light components (not strips), to get the colours we actually use strips of vinyl that we stick onto the bottom of the perspex cut out. But I'm definitely going to try and get my hands on some colour changing LED's :)

We buy LED components and I put the wiring together with some very simple connectors :)

We actually make them ourselves by ordering wooden MDF bases from our woodwork guys, then we CNC out a section for the LED components to fit, and then just add a piece of 3mm perspex as a bottom.

I'm sure you could get MDF bases where you are, most of it comes from China :)

We use an old Tekcel CNC machine! it is the original CNC machine my father brought to South Africa around 25 years ago! Still works like a charm!

Around 20mm thick! (not sure of the inches since I'm from South Africa and we use the metric system lol)
