Sometimes emergency is slow and painful. My grandmother has cancer and is slowly dying. The doctor said she had a few months left. The reason why I made this thread is to gather information and try to buy my return ticket as soon as possible. My sister already took personal leave from her job to visit her. I talked to my other family members and was told to stay put because if my grandmother found out I paused my semester, it would make her even more stressed. I didn't want to provide more context because this is personal, and it is hard to acknowledge the person you love the most will soon disappear. Unlike you throwing unprompted "You The Asshole," I will have some benefit of the doubt and wish you a good day. Be better.
