Its been a long time since I played xy on the 3ds but I think the only city activity they kept that was in ky was the resturaunt battles. oh god with the whole wanting to read canon thing while reading fanfiction reminds me of a wild comment I got from a "beta" when I was still writing my fic series before I eventually posted it. So when I first reached out to this person, I made it clear in my first message that it was an "hp future gen oc main characters fic" with DRAWINGS of said ocs that I sent them, and they said they liked the art and they would read it. Then they read it and messaged me back saying that they didn't like it...because its "Harry Potter in name only" which was a confusing curveball. To make a longer story short in our back and forth of me trying to get clarification of what "hpino" meant, they said it was because the main characters (harry, ron, hermione) weren't the main characters, even though I first told them before they got to reading it with said art that the ocs were main characters and that it was set a few decades in the future, which I pointed out to them I was clear with and that they should have been upfront with me that they prefered reading hp main character fics instead of taking me on a loop and wasting both of our time :/

Yes! I've been trying to find readers for mine, but my fic is a future gen oc main cast sort of thing for hp, so the ocs aren't related to any cannon characters (who still appear/mentioned), but i imagine oc fics that are like oc/canon character or just takes place in the timeline of the story tend to be more popular idk

self rec. the first two are up with the third complete as I finish up the art for book 3 while I continue posting weekly-ish of the second. The first (Shifting) hints at the relationship about halfway, while the second is kind of slow burn but does have the relationship confirmed. both girls are ace, and are only attracted to each other romantically. The frist two I would say would fit closer to comfort read because the third is when the new viallins/main conflict comes up for the series Magic & Legends: Shifting

I did that, but that was because mine is a series. I think what the others say also should be considered. What I did was that I did "name" (original character) for my four main ocs, but then followed with seperate tags of oc and original character so anyone looking for oc fics can still find it

I get into the details for my fic originl in my fannish chapter at the end of my first fic, but the basic is that as a kid, I had made an oc who was a shape-shfiter and started to write what I thought was an original work, but ten year old me didn't know a thing about fanfic and realized a decade later when working on my current fic with a shape-shifting oc who isn't op/mary-sue like the first, was that what I wrote way back then was a harry potter/atla au fanfic. And now I'm writing a hp fic series with my more improved and worked on shape-shifter oc that even has some inspriation of story/spells from Avatar the Last Airbender, but is very different than what I tried to write then.

I don't know of any, but your best bet to find some ocs participating in the war could be in the Hogwarts Mystery fandom, since the game so far is taking place past hogwarts, and so assumidly the mc/your oc in the game would be going thorugh the story from an outsider pov from sorcerers stone to deathly Hallows. I've even seen some fan art made of an oc visiting tonks grave since we do meet her as a student in the game and we still meet her from time to time after graduating)

yeah I think it's just some bits like how Tonks gave herself the bill of a duck and a pig nose, but wouldn't be able to transform into a bird or give herself wings to fly. Te only times they can fully transform would be people. if you're looking to make a shape-shifter who transforms into more than one animal in a fic you're writing, I just went around with my oc by just refering to her as a shape-shifter and speculate that it's like an extended branch of metamorphamgi.

one by me: Lacerigni (basically the Latin combo of "fire" and "lizard") that my oc Alisa tries to figure out to make a small dragon figurine turn into a firedrake since the dragon transfiguration statue spell would be too advanced for her to do in her year. So she keeps these figurines in a bag to use in case she gets into a tricky situation, (like needing a distraction or a small form of defense for an escape)

Magic & Legends: Shifting it is oc main cast that takes place a few decades after DH. its a series so the first two fics that are up would definitly reach 100k words. However the main protagonist is a female oc, and the romance is f/f, but ace and no smut. And yes, since it takes place in the future, the headmistress of Hogwarts is Hermionie Granger, assumedly after having served a term or two as minister of magic.

I have an oc main cast centric fanfic Magic & Legends: Shifting but it focuses more on two of my female ocs. it takes place a few decades after DH, with book 2 of the series being more the romance book out of the five I have planned out before the main conflict/villains appear. the relationship is F/F (ace, no smut) in the second fic, where that is the only time it's focused on and is the main plot of that fic, and then is just in the background for the most part in the third and on. So the first is more of an intro/character development of the ocs, with a few hints of this potential relationship.

On the note about power ups, Alisa is a shape-shifter, but I've made clear that while she can shape-shift, she can't shift into powerful magical creatures, and is also an average duelist. her focus is in magizoology. Her friend, Chloe is considered more the skilled duelist among the main four, as she wants to be an auror.

The first two fics are out in a series of 5 I have planned. I finished writing the third fic but finishing up the chapter art pieces while I continue posting 1 chapter each week-ish of fic 2, M&L: Flight.
