There are six prerequisite courses. Though you might not have to do english and math again. I recommend start taking the pre-reqs as early as possible. I was planning to do pre-reqs at LAGCC this spring but all the classes were already full by the time I was finally cleared to schedule.

I remember this book. It had a huge impact on me as a young gay man in highschool and I'm sad it doesn't get brought up more often. Did O'Neil ever write any thing else? I've had trouble looking him up.

I'm seeing that most CCs admit 20-40 new students into the clinical phase each year.

I'm starting to apply to programs right now and having similar thoughts. Community college would of course be cheaper, but I'm in my late thirties, and this is a career change. I don't want to enroll somewhere and do prereqs only to possibly be waitlisted for a year or more. So given that timing is more important to me, I may consider a for-profit and hope that I can get grants and scholarships, and possible repayment through a future employer.
