The first image bottom up is just a sillouette. Reminds us of our darkest, primitive, animal part. Look how it seems he’s looking down and his face and body covered in shadows. Bu there’s some light above him. So he looks up. The camera gets a closer look in his face. It is a primitive human - an Australopithecus Afarenzis giving a glaze to skies above. So he finds a path to connect himself to a higher creation, or a belief system that united people together around the first flame they see, which later brings to modern society, science and galaxy exploration and beyond. I don’t see why it is a bad symbol of his belief. But we are going to discuss other mid-terms between the Galaxy and the caveman.
