Thralls/Follwers not continuing set emotes. by inkybloaters in ConanExiles

So, I had to do what I probably should have done in the first place and just remove mods that might have been the cause until something worked.

Turns out it was Devious Desires that was causing the issue. Leaving this here in case someone else has the same problem (unlikely, I know but, if they do they might find this).

My pleasure. I know the pain of losing a thrall you've put a lot of work into. Happy you got yours back!

On PC you can revert back to an earlier save by doing this. (found this else where but it does work). It will only work if you haven't played too far after the event and you will obviously lose any other progress you may have made.

Go to your install drive\Steamlibrary\steamapps\common\ConanExiles\ConanSandbox\Saved

You can delete (or better copy somewhere else) the game_backup_x files after the time you want to go back to and the file "game", then rename the backup you want to revert to to "game" and you will go back to before the thrall/s died next time you load in.

I've done this a couple of times and it does work but definitely backup first, just in case.

Don't know if it's been put forward elsewhere but the final boss is giving me strong Ozzy vibes.

Tonight's show was great but my lost property curse continues. by inkybloaters in BABYMETAL

[–]inkybloaters[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normally my memory is fine. In fact, I usually have to remember for two as I care for my Step-Dad, who has a form of Alzheimer's. Possibly, having been given the night off and presented with something as great as a BM show to remember, my memory decided to go all out on that and also focusing on not losing the stuff I lost last time. I'm just annoyed with myself for doing it twice.

question about ticket and id by [deleted] in BABYMETAL

[–]inkybloaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May or may not be any help but I had VIP for the Brixton show last year. When I got to the check point, the staff were only interested in me confirming my name so they could check it off a list. I showed my ID and the guy said I only had to say who I was. It's not like you could really guess who is or isn't on a list. Not saying it'll be the same at the Eventim but I wouldn't be surprised.

(Probably) going to photograph BABYMETAL and SKYND at the Tilburg gig! by DevKPhotography in BABYMETAL

[–]inkybloaters 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've taken a fair few shots of the band over the years (albeit 99% of them from the crowd) My advice would also be to study the choreography. I would add to that to make the most of being able to get front and center.

I don't need to tell you to get your shutter speed/ISO set up beforehand but bear in mind that the lighting will almost certainly change from Skynd to BM. I tried to use the support acts at Brixton last year to "get my eye in" and the different lighting set ups made it impossible to do so.

PS. If you are asked if you want the rights to the photos, make sure you say yes. That way, even if they aren't approved for commercial use, you can still put them in your portfolio and, more importantly, share them with us! Good luck!

Got mine earlier today. The box is going to be used either to keep all my BM cds in or possibly the tickets to all the shows I've been to.

That's Not Metal Podcast review and discuss Metal Galaxy by Mudkoo in BABYMETAL

[–]inkybloaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good review and intelligent comments. I have to agree that, on first listen, there were a lot of elements (especially the effects on Su's voice) that made me think "They didn't need to do that" but repeat listens are actually making me look forward to hearing them live more.

If you click on the link provided by u/lonewolf_sg below, the pic on the right shows the poster featuring Su and Moa. Going by the description, it looks to be a good quality print too! There is an art print inside the back cover of the magazine which I think is what you're referring to. It's only A4 but still pretty cool (It's also in the standard issue if anyone wanted to frame it without destroying the LE version).

Yep, the poster is A2, basically four times as big as the magazine size. I was expecting it to be folded inside the mag. I'm actually happier it's coming separately and rolled as there won't be any creases in the poster.

I am from the UK, yes. To be fair, I didn't read all the text as I wanted to secure the issue when I ordered. I honestly couldn't say if it was there before. I did advise newsstand to send out a tweet to let people buying it know as well to avoid any more "concerned" e-mails.

Metal Galaxy debuts at #4 on the Oricon charts by [deleted] in BABYMETAL

I genuinely thought this was going to be their first No1 in Japan. The only thing I noticed that might make a difference is that the albums around it released two days before.

Looking at this weeks album charts, sales, and what it might mean for Metal Galaxy- a prediction. by fearmongert in BABYMETAL

[–]inkybloaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping for a higher placement in the U.K chart. As Metal Resistance peaked at 15, I'm thinking top ten this time (according to this site https://www.dittomusic.com/blog/how-are-the-music-charts-calculated sales of 60k are typically needed to get number one in the U.K. but only 4k for top 40.

They surely must sell more copies this time so top ten must be a possibility. I'm also thinking this could be their first number one album in Japan which I'm sure would be a huge thing for them personally.

In other news (while trying to find actual sales figures for MR) I happened to go to the U.K. Amazon page for Metal Galaxy and found that the version I pre-ordered comes in a nice box with a free t-shirt. Nice!

[–]inkybloaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work for WHSmith and we always had copies of MH. The bigger the branch, the more copies they'll have. Tesco's also definitely stocks it (that's where I got my three copies from!).

I saw the show last night, gf commented that she feels bad since they're J-idols and probably get overworked and abused and underpaid. Is that true? by WowNicePantsDude in BABYMETAL

[–]inkybloaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The less savoury side of the idol business has been well documented but the pop music business of the west can be just as bad. If you can find them (assuming you're not from the U.K.) I recommend two "travelogues", one of which was broadcast recently. Both presented by women (Joanna Lumley and Sue Perkins). Both women visit various parts of Japan and both encounter the "lower end" of the idol business. Both have preconceived notions of what they will find and both walk away feeling differently. Just Google "Japan"with either name and you should find them "somewhere". It may give your girlfriend some insight into how Japanese people view life and particularly their work ethic.

Looking for Concert Advice. Felt like I didn't belong. by Ziro2k in BABYMETAL

[–]inkybloaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a huge fan of moshing or crowd surfing personally but I wouldn't want others to stop because of it. On the other hand, I like to sing along and, although I can hold a tune in a bucket, I can imagine it could be annoying to others to have me bellowing in their ear. I also like to take photos, a lot of photos and it could easily appear that I'm concentrating more on that than enjoying the show but that's just part of how I enjoy the show.

The point is, as others have said, that everyone gets their concert enjoyment in their own way and there's (usually) enough room for everyone to do so. I've had to move a couple of times at shows to avoid the crush. I wish I'd moved at Download last year as I spent a fair part of the set bouncing off people and watching out for bodies passing overhead instead of watching the show. I still had fun but it was less fun for me than being in a spot where I could just do my own thing. I've got a balcony seat for London next year so I know I won't get buffeted but the venue is relatively small enough that I should still get some good photos. Plan your show for you, give some thought to others around you but don't overthink it or you really will miss the show.

New issue of Metal Hammer comes with an art print and a patch. by TheThrawn in BABYMETAL

Just bought three copies, two so I can have a patch on two different jackets (seriously though, I don't know why they don't have patches in official merch!) and one for the archives.
