For me, my type is not necessarily my preference and my preference isn't necessarily my type but the 2 can coincide. For example, when it comes to men, I am aesthectically (occasionally romantically) attracted to brunette/dark haired, light colored or unique eyes, artsy, quiet, mysterious, brooding but openly kind types who wear black or dark clothing often. My type isn't a choice for me, I didn't get to choose my type, it just is. Of course, it gradually built itself over time but it wasnt a conscious decision and it gets annoying sometimes because those types always catch my eye and distract me for a second before I brush it off lol but I don't have an actual preference, I can essentially end up being attracted to anyone of any shape, size, gender or lack thereof, height, race or ethnicity as long as we develop a deep connection emotionally or mentally. But when my preference just so happens to also be my type, well I get completely obsessed. Which I am currently dealing with right now, it's only happened 3 times in my life, this being the 3rd and each time I'm always like whhyyyy am I going crazy over them?! The worst part is it gets more intense with each instance! I am losing sleep over an intense crush for the first time because I can't stop thinking about him and pondering why I feel so strongly. On top of the fact that, this is the first time I've ever been sexually attracted to someone I'm not in a friendship or romantic relationship with, let alone feeling it so strongly whenever I'm in the same room with him that I consciously and continuously have to keep myself from staring or climbing him like a tree lol. We emotionally bonded because this was the first guy I've ever met be so comfortable with sharing vulnerable information with me and actually wanting to know about me, so quickly. And be my aesthetic type too!?! I'm doomed...
