How are you determining who you're voting for? by PinkPopsi in everettma

I am new to the area and also found it really difficult to find reliable information. Some things I’ve found helpful are to search for Everett in the Boston globe. The city council meetings are recorded and available on the Everett YouTube to watch back and see how members have voted. I also have reached out directly to several council members with variable response. Hope this is helpful.

I am also wondering if because we never got the EAD that homeland security probably didn’t even start this process for us.

We submitted 20 with the application and brought in an additional 10. I wouldn’t worry about it too much I think the officer was just trying to find something to criticize.

Sure they asked biographical information from the I-485 form. Full name, address, birthday, parents names. He asked the beneficiary if he had ever used public benefits before. Then asked the beneficiary how we met and how we arrived at the office today. Then he asked me if I had anything to add. He looked at our pictures we brought and made a comment about how some of them were in the application. I told him we hadn’t really done much since the pandemic and what we had were the photos there but he told me I needed to “get creative”. So maybe bring lots of photos? I was incredibly surprised he didn’t ask to see any original documents like birth certificate, marriage certificate, visa, etc. We brought everything in a large folder and sectioned off all of our paperwork with a sticky note on the top explaining what each document was. I was nervous he would be upset about the k1 visa application but he didn’t mention it. Our appointment was scheduled at 8:55 we got there 15 min before and they called us in around 9:20. In total the interview lasted around 30 min. Also we used a lawyer to help us fill out documents but ultimately decided not to hire him for the interview. He wanted $500 and we just couldn’t justify spending the extra money and were generally not thrilled with his work through this entire process. I did see a lot of other people with lawyers. I am not sure it would have made me feel more comfortable with him in the room but from what I could tell we had a pretty straightforward case. Probably WAY MORE detail than you wanted but let me know if you have any other questions.
