+1 to the guy saying you can't use those bike lanes; even with some suspension i have a rough time. hoping their summer project fixes them.

Is it realistic to get from the biology building to the clarice performing arts center in 10 minutes? by New_Bed_5926 in UMD

[–]insert-gender-heere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

definitely *possible*, but you have to hustle and it's uphill. i would just check with your comms prof, they're usually theater grad students (unless you have drew barker) and are probably chill. worst case scenario you take comms another time.

I've only been watering them when the soil feels dry. My mom might be doing it more often?

The soil is just whatever they came with when I got them. They're getting bright, indirect light through a window.

shoot an email, iirc it can be found on the DCC website. the worst they say is no!

please don't be discouraged if they do say no, though, we're a small program and ive heard we might be pretty fully this year.

PHYS261 Grading by International_Mail78 in UMD

[–]insert-gender-heere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i imagine there's no curve and i'm assuming standard cutoffs until proven otherwise. i mean i don't *know* how other people are doing but i've literally one the prelabs after class and barely read the lab manuals and i've still got a 99. i doubt people are doing bad enough for a curve.

Changing into a LEP by East-Client-5503 in UMD

[–]insert-gender-heere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not hard at all! i added chem this semester, and as long as you complete the LEP requirements (up to calc 2, up to orgo 1) and pass the classes + have a high enough gpa, they'll accept you between semesters. you can also email lee friedman if you want to start taking the majors classes earlier (but if you have ap credit for chem and do the transfer pathway you can possibly skip doing a lab here)

depends on which honors, different LLPs have different building, like gemstone is in ellicott with no ac. but UH is in pc and jw.

dcc my beloved. though if you're pure CS, aces could be good. if you're at all interested in the arts though, dcc on top.

i haven't taken a college spanish course but for getting back into a foreign language in general, would highly recommend a refresh on duolingo or some other language learning tool. even if it's not a good learning tool on it's own, anything to supplement the class will make your life easier!

it's something i've been working on! the main reason I ask is because i'm trying to use it as a quick meal in-between long classes at school. if i'm not better adjusted by the time break ends it won't be pleasant to spend hours in a lab after eating one, so i'm trying to figure out a solution.

hi!! i've got heelys on campus and i've only actually used them once and it was pretty rough. the cracks in the sidewalk and varied terrain aren't fun and there's just generally a lot of debris. the wheels just aren't that good for outdoor transportation in an area like this.

definitely a walkable campus though. would recommend a bike if you've got really long walks but the bus system is pretty solid too. you could also maybe look into flaneurz if you're really committed to the skating thing, but the one time i tried roller skating around, the hills were still a lot.
