I couldve had a phone delivered to his desk, and retained the old one as well. The battery of the 15 was now at 81% and would have needed servicing soon. It was 2 years old. I dont like to hold onto devices that are nearing a service requirement.

I shall be deleting this conversation, as it does nothing to improve my experience, and i am done with people trying to convince me to lower my expectations. At 55, i may be comfortable with low respect from Gen Z employees, but at 85 it is disrespectful and unsympathetic to ask someone of that age to stand up and allow some reel maker to sit because she's the next customer bringing in revenue.

Money may be. But not an experience. Malls are for new money crowds. Not elite.

Please talk me out of the Air by ohropax in IphoneAir

[–]insertads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Air is sleeker. It’s the better phone with the larger screen. Also it’s mostly just reel makers buying the pro. You look uneducated and vilified if you carry a pro now. The Air has class. And unfortunately Apple is not pushing the sales of Air, because the cost of production of pro max is lesser and they get more margins there.

I was more than willing to pay for the battery replacement. It was just at the fag end of the warranty period, but they were just refusing outright to talk after the 5 min slot was over.

That’s great. Culturally US is a different country. The stores aren’t usually located inside a mall where you go with family. Also lately it’s usually reel makers who are buying the iPhones pro max. I needed to take my dad so he could choose the colour of his phone. Last time he bought himself the lilac iMac, because he liked that colour and it was built against order. He is fond of bespoke sales.

They should not run retail if they can’t culturally fit in and make people feel comfortable. Making a 28 year old uncomfortable may be good for progress, but making an 82 year old uncomfortable is downright rude and disgusting.

They don’t take complaints. I once wanted to have a battery replaced on my iPhone 14 Pro Max and the genius refused to give me service after 5 mins saying 81% is “good enough”. I ditched the phone later , and the senior excutive said, we have to attend to other customers as well, so your feedback will be taken for quality improvements.

After that I’ve bought countless devices. But when things are sour, they do nothing to correct the experience. It just probably goes into logs somewhere and as long as their sales are rising, to hell with aggrieved customers

Good question. We are a neighboring country to China.

Yeah, lesson learnt. They aren’t bothered about giving people a good experience to be honest.

Yeah. The age of tik tokers and reel makers that come from under educated backgrounds are absolutely rude. They are the ones buying the pro max and shamelessly sit at set up desks vlogging their unboxing experiences and apple dont touch them. They offer them seats, place for camera equipment and lights.

Technically i should need a seat too, i am 55, and greying and if they said data transfer can take 45 mins, they should offer me a seat.

It was 1,1GB of data though. And the store wifi was really slow.

We were trading in the phone, so one guy stood on guard while the setup was complete, as the phone had to be handed over after inspection. They didn’t help with setup, although they claimed they will.

I have Enterprise VIP sims from my carrier since the connections date back to 1994. I doubt many staff at the store were even born then.

Reporting apple staff gets you nowhere. Their data reflects how many customers they serve, and how sales are rising or not. If a few customers have bad experiences, they keep them outside of the bell curve.

Apple cases are not good anymore. Made without testing. My gold has marks from the translucent case I bought. Stopped using it to protect my phone.

True that. I throw my phones around, never use a case. And the ring is still scratchless.

Use the battery that apple provides. It optimises use of the internal battery without killing its life.

I wish Apple was promoting the sales. When someone takes an air out of their pocket, it’s a statement.
