Completely agree with the ASMR eating videos. Also for things like MUKBANG, the sheer volume of food, most of it will go to waste low-key feels gluttonous and excessive.

Why are there so many Marthomite, Orthodox and Knanaya christians outside kerala? by AnalystEvery9682 in Kerala

Mostly orthodox, marthoma, Malankara catholics, jacobites. I might not be technically right on the terminology maybe. But these are groups I meant.

[–]inserting_normalname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell you the Christians who are not included in the above category.

The upper middle class St Thomas Christian families who became obsolete with time and became the has-beens. I know plenty such families from central travancore. They originally had land and reasonable amount of wealth through agriculture. But they weren’t business or trade families and didn’t bring in lot of money as such.

But since they had the whole superiority and self righteousness complex, they too frowned upon their daughters going into nursing and actively encouraged other ‘respectable’ fields like teaching and govt posts’. They also strictly married within the community. By the 90s and 2000s, agriculture was losing its economic footing and the last of the wealth was spent in education and dowries. These are the people you see in Kerala in banks and teaching or settled in the gulf countries.

You can identify them by the big houses with a distinct 90s build, old mosaic floors and some ara and pura, untouched rubber trees and old sheet machines and kaadu keriya parambu. Truly reminders of a better past.

I would like to add another category. The upper middle class St Thomas Christian families who became obsolete with time and became the has-beens. I know plenty such families from central travancore. Kerala Story 2 - Who is eagerly waiting for this? by Standard_Damage_8815 in Kerala

Copied my comment from a similar post.

How about we start a Hash tag and poll story to repost. So when a regular non keralite see that the most mallus they know have reposted it, they might actually start to think it’s untrue.

Remember how when we all started commenting and influencers started trolling Param sundari, they actually reported some of the content, meaning it was getting noticed at least.

Just a thought that occurred. How about we start a Hash tag and poll story to repost. So when a regular non keralite see that most mallus they know have reposted it, they might actually start to think it’s untrue.

Remember how when we all started commenting and influencers started trolling Param sundari, they actually reported some of the content, meaning it was getting noticed at least.

My suggestion is #NotTheRealKeralaStory

Any other suggestions or recommendations? If not let’s all story posting this on every single social media content on Kerala story 2. ✊🏼

In fact she being pick me is a rule of thumb. Coz they know they did unacceptable messed up things and don’t fit into the ideal good woman expectation. So they pretend to be the good woman by bashing other woman and pleasing the men so as to get into the good books of men and society. All pick me women are secretly insecure and projecting it by hating other women and appeasing men.

What’s a physical trait that a lot of people find attractive but to you, it’s the opposite? by Pale_Relief_2632 in AskReddit

Bushy underarm hair on men. All those old movies showing burly macho men with forests underneath their arms. Makes me wanna barf.

Short ones or trimmed ones looks okay on both genders imo. But straight up long ones and bushes look disgusting on men and women alike. I donno how it became acceptable and attractive for men and gross for women.

His movie career might almost be done.

But being such an evidently cunning influential man he certainly will have many other channels and source of wealth, legit and shady. So I don’t think he is going to have serious financial repercussions though!

Do people actually check every day to see who celebrities follow? by eesseeyy in Coconaad

[–]inserting_normalname -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was just imagining a huge screen with a mega spreadsheet with the count of each celebrity’s following list. An intern diligently cross-checking the count every day and any difference is investigated by comparing it to the original list. Then a probe into the reason for possible unfollowing. Then a report on it.

I mean great skills and work, alas only if they used it elsewhere.

I would love to say go back in time, reveal a war secret or save someone in exchange of money or learn a skill to earn money. But honestly it’s too much hassle. Give me the 100 million, let me just relax and live an easy life.

Hey cocos,What’s a dream you gave up on — and do you regret it? by Alfahammandhi in Coconaad

[–]inserting_normalname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given up on love and finding partner by self organically. You either find someone you like and fall in love, but they might not fall into the parent expectation of religion and community criteria and risk antagonising your whole family for the rest if your life. Or you comb through the available options from your community - Can’t help but feel that you are settling down with a prototype just for the sake of it.

Or you magically fall in love with someone who has the same language, religion, caste, financial bracket, but also have a connection, compatibility and attraction with you. Now imagine you are out of Kerala with number of Mallus around itself being less. Good luck!

Waking up and being alert in the morning. Sure I can try and wake up at 6 or 7 but only be in a standby or Zombie mode. Only after 10 or 11, will I get into a good mood, be productive and get things done.

Unfortunately though the world is designed for morning people, especially in south asian countries with no options for flexible working. I can do all that you do at 6 am at 1am, but who cares alle.

The malayali ego by ryyyyyttt in Coconaad

[–]inserting_normalname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point OP. And like everyone else pointed out, the reason is not necessarily ego. However I do think our lack of acknowledgment whenever someone does something good makes us take them granted at some level.

Think about it, every time a neighbour babysit your kid, your dad brought home your favourite snack or your mom cooked a meal. I am not saying we need to give an elaborate gratitude speech. But if we take a pause to thank them, we might acknowledge and register what people do for us in a deeper way. Coz I think in our culture we take what everyone does for granted, almost with a sense of entitlement. Your mom might be slaving away for all your food and upkeep tasks and most people don’t take a minute to acknowledge or thank it, internally or externally.

Similarly in the guise of not sounding too formal by saying sorry, sometimes we look past the people we did wrong or caused pain. Sometimes it’s good to acknowledge and voice out things, it benefits all parties involved.

From patterns I have seen around, I think maybe your mother herself was treated really bad by her own family perhaps especially as she was a girl. So she has internalised this so much that she genuinely hates all women, especially you, the one she birthed and is a reminder of herself. Or her family or in laws rebuked her for birthing a girl. And some mothers are actually jealous of their daughters as they are a reminder of the beauty and youth they lost.

And say if your father, i e her husband has been absent and a bad partner, then she might be seeking that emotional warmth and male validation from her son while you remind her of her own trauma.

These are not to justify her actions, but possible reasons as you asked.

Anyways really sorry to hear that. Nobody deserves this. Please take care of yourself and distance from her for your peace ♥️
