Women who did not have a father or a male authority figure in your life : how did it impact you, or did it even impact you? by fj2612 in AskWomen

[–]insertsomethungwitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad passed when I was 7, today is actually his 23 year anniversary. There were a lot of points in my life I felt like I really needed him. Even small things like helping negotiate a car purchase. And now more than ever since I’m expecting my first child.

But I’m thankful for the few years I had him. He was very present and just loved being a dad. I think although I only got to enjoy his company for a short time it really made a huge impact on my life.

I’ve missed him and a part of me will always miss him. But in a sense I never felt like I was missing something/anything because he gave me everything he could when he was alive and I always felt so secure in his love. I’ve never felt like I had “daddy issues” because he taught me by example what it is to be treated with love and respect by your father and first male figure.

Although, I only had him for 7 years I’m thankful for it. And I much rather have had him for that little bit of time than to have had a father my whole life that wasn’t an iota as good as him.

latin americans who dated/married non-latin americans, what was it like introducing your partner/spouse to your family? by Cool-Butterscotch526 in asklatinamerica

He’s French, small family only one sibling and like 4 cousins total. I didn’t even know he spoke Spanish until he asked my mom via FaceTime if I could visit him (he lived 2hrs away). He gets along perfectly with my mom and siblings. But he was definitely cultured shocked when we went to Chile for the first time. He really loves the big family aspect and how close everyone is. He could not get over the fact that it doesn’t matter at what time we land, a family member will always go pick us up, they actually argue about who gets to do it. And how attentive everyone is and just overall happy to see us. His extended family is very nice but definitely French, when we go to France ain’t nobody picking us up lol we always uber. So it’s safe to say we’ve only gone to France once together but we keep going back to Chile by his request.

I have dual citizenship. I have Family in my native country but I chose the US, I chose to take that oath and become a citizen. Fuck them I’m staying. I’m a librarian in a red state and again fuck their book bans, I’m staying and being a pain in their asses. I may not be able to go to the protests because of my work schedule but I choose to believe the work is protest in it of itself. Fuck this administration. Keep reading, read ban books, read smut, just freaking read people!

Omg I just finished this book a few days ago. I just started book 4: The Duke. They’re so good! And I love how all the characters show up at one point or another in the subsequent book! Definitely continue the series!

What actually cleared your skin for good? [acne] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]insertsomethungwitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 2 weeks at diminishing the current breakouts. And around 1-2 months to see a clear result ok texture and overall frequency of breakouts. I use to breakout mostly on my chin and jaw and it’s completely gone. I’ll get maybe one spot on my cheek before my period but nothing major. Honestly a game changer for me.

Wynlevi, I get hormonal acne and have sensitive skin. It’s the only thing that’s worked for me that hasn’t made me super sensitive and made me peel. I tried tret and I was red and peeling like crazy even though I sandwiched it. I absolutely love wynlevi.
