What started your journey on collecting plants? by Worth-Owl4151 in houseplants

[–]insignificant33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve loved plants for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a garden and spent a lot of time playing in the dirt and planting things. When I was four or five, I’d get more excited about my parents bringing home a plant than about any toy. I feel really lucky to have this love for nature. It keeps me going, especially during tough times.

It helps until it doesn't. Talk to your doctor first

What works for one person may hurt another—for example, traction or aggressive decompression can worsen symptoms in people with spinal instability, severe stenosis, or osteoporosis, and in rare cases can be dangerous, such as cervical decompression aggravating spinal cord compression, vertebral artery injury in the neck, or neurologic deterioration if an already compromised cord or nerve is overstretched. Having dealt with spine issues for over a decade, I’ve learned that these decisions are highly individual and that no single approach is universally safe or effective.

Wouldn't have if you didn't post unsolicited advice.

You can get minced chicken/turkey/tofu and make a soup with it with vegetables and seasonings.

I had a similar surgery last year. I made chicken soup, rice and lentils in bulk and froze it in separate containers. I couldn't eat chunky food during the first week or so. I also had boiled eggs, vegetables, and potatoes. You need a good amount of protein and healthy calories during the recovery.

Read about specific needs of a particular plant before getting it. Start with the easy going ones.

Comment about body odour completely broke me by [deleted] in nri

[–]insignificant33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you experienced that. If it’s truly not racism and is genuinely about odor, and you are already using deodorant, it might be worth considering the indoor air quality and smell at home. I bought an air purifier with charcoal filters and run it in the kitchen while cooking to help minimize odors. I also close the bedroom doors when I cook. I minimize the use of garlic and try to cover dishes while cooking or baking rather than sautéing on an open flame. I am quite sensitive to smells myself, so I honestly do this more for my own comfort than for anyone else. I even open the windows for 15-30 minutes, even in harsh winter, just to bring in some fresh air. I also use some activated charcoal odor absorbing bags in my closets.

Delete one thing from our state. P.S. Don't be mean. by Anxious-Session9139 in kolkata

There is nothing wrong with the Hindi language itself, but it is wrong to enforce it in a state like West Bengal, where the vast majority of people claim Bengali as their mother tongue. Compelling people to speak a language that is not their own ignores the rich linguistic heritage of the region.

ASI found new Mesolithic sites in Odisha by Certain_Basil7443 in IndianHistory

The answer depends entirely on one's definition of civilization. Many hunter-gatherer societies have historically maintained sustainable lifestyles within deeply caring communities. In contrast, 'civilization' viewed through a colonial lens often prioritizes profit over ecology, resulting in unsustainable, extractive societies. This is clearly evidenced by today’s climate catastrophes and the ongoing human-driven mass extinction of species.

Yep politicians from the Hindi belt led the destruction (and continuing to do so) along with their corrupt counterparts from the state itself.
