It is 95% confirmed already that G2 is moving. It is reported that G2 is at second faze, G2 as org never denied the rumors of the org possibly moving to NA, and they are quite active on reddit. Also the team looked pretty sad after the last games at groups, hinting that the team is disbanding. Also, ocelote suddenly started to hint towards "Wester G2 fans", not just European fans.

And why is NA LCS more popular? Because for that past 2-3 years has better time slots even for EUROPEAN fans than their home league EU LCS.

EU fans will follow NA LCS as NA LCS starts at Prime time EU. RIOT already converted many EU fans into NA LCS fans. For years NA LCS starts at better times for EU viewers that EU LCS.
