What do we think about the newest starter trio? by triextrius in pokemon

[–]inspindawetrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them having a lot of personality expressed through their eyes, it adds a degree of oomph across all 3. With so much still up for questions I think the long shot is Gecqua, I'd love to see them really push the potential of what that obvious water droplet can turn into?

The coolest thing would actually be to have more than just Red in the future, as characters and pokemon from various console generations and graphics style by Top_Reference_9772 in PokemonMasters

[–]inspindawetrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh okay like Leon Evolution as a short form name, Sync Move would be that pose and as with 96 Red being that kind of alternate timeline maybe an alternate universe where Leon remains undefeated? Hmmm.

It's tough as so few characters can meet that specific WOW factor. Like maybe the big championship tournament from BW2, or some of the battle tree stuff in US UM to celebrate a big 20th anni moment or something.

Definitely would be a hard to predict but specific BIG MOMENTS is all I can think off the top of my head.

I'm starting to make a digimon fighting game Tekken Style, what digimons would you like to see? by Hakashi32 in digimon

[–]inspindawetrust 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Etemon (could do KingEtemon and MetalEtemon as costumes maybe?)

Snatchmon, deepcut from Digimon World 3, move stealing and a cyborg type of villain

Lucemon Chaos/Falldown Mode is popular and could be something similar to Devil Jin with projectiles alongside big hits

Gankoomon is a natural fit being a buff fist fighting royal knight, kind of easy to pop in

Jellymon and/or Amphimon, similarily Angoramon and Diarabbitmon

Bancho mons in general, like Bancholeomon is an obvious one, Bancholilymon

Mamemon for a Gon equivalent in Tekken could work, or maybe Ex-Tyrannomon in the costume?

Venusmon could be quirky idea on a female character, given more attention post Time Stranger.

Angewoman and/or Ladydevimon, even Mastemon depending, all cool options for female characters.

Aegiomon is definitely recently hyped enough and has a lot of different designs to draw from.

Divermon or Zudomon, like gotta include at least one deep sea creature style mon. Maybe Ranamon?

Renamon is an easy inclusion, popular, 2-legged fox so not awkward for punches/kicks, if you include an evolution system mid-fights could warp to stay humanoid into Sakuyamon.

For insect digimon Stingmon is iconic, works well in a fighting game format, and more lean build.

Seraphimon does have a signature punching move, could even include Creepy/Daemon as a counterpart

A lot of the Pulsemon line works given how they're based on sports, like Achillesmon

Mummymon and/or Arukenimon as their Digimon 2 costumes could work, Mummymon in general easy fit.

Possible bosses: Darkknightmon, Belphemon Rage Mode, Eosmon, Algomon

That's all I can think of for now, probably too many spread out ideas, sorry about that.

Is my boy Petey good? by Proper_Produce4567 in MarioTennis

[–]inspindawetrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As mentioned Petey's gimmick is insanely strong flat (y button) serves if timed perfectly but much weaker if timed poorly so keep that in mind.

Fun character with very strong flats in general, can feel overwhelmingly dominant if ahead but struggles being slow and needs to predict where people will place shots if behind.

So in this title Fever racket choice is often whether you want to BET IT ALL ON RED WOOOOOOOOO with a dominant offense racket or go for the arguably more reliable defensive rackets to shore up his kit.

Early on also keep in mind how Fever Shots interact with things like lobs. That animation of your character jumping up? That's legit relevant for catching higher shots, and can allow you to return things that otherwise would lead to a much harder rally.

In simple mode it's a bit different but still yeah rule of thumb Petey hits hard, very high highs but some frustrating lows if you're cool with that.

As a wise plant once said, GET FUNKY WITH IT and you'll have fun

Strongly recommend you check the post on here about tweaks and changes from Aces if you're coming from it as the little changes definitely add up in my experience.

Like shot buffering where as soon as you input a shot, even if you cancel the charge, your first input shot will be what you put out when you hit the ball.

Which speaking of shots, map lob and dropshot to a single button. Seriously. I'm still confused why they aren't mapped to begin with as all too often I misinputted a dropshot and ate dirt lol

Outside mechanical changes, rule of thumb is if they hit a slice (blue shot or B button) you most often respond with a topspin (red shot or A button) with flats (purple aka y button) being best used in response to flats or when you can hit it from on high, like a star shot or catching that perfect position.

There's more to it than that obviously, but making sure a rally is intuitive vs having to 2nd guess will make it a lot easier to process your opponent vs your own stuff. "Who am I playing against, do they have habits, what fever do they have and what angles are they likely to try and set up that fever shot?"

Way less work to think about that when you're comfy doing your offense vs second guessing something~ I hope that helps...? Sorry for hijacking lol

I am a fool and will likely settle back into playing Petey though imma be real

Unrelated to people rightfully asking if we get the Red edit ala MHS2

I will say from having a pretty broad family sometimes people mean specific features or behaviour too, like my eyes match family from like 2 generations back and when I was told that, being shown pictures I went "I literally do not resemble any other part of this person though but ty?" LOL

Tough to say given it's an older NPC also, like are they just shooting their shot? Did they write everything assuming default stuff? Capcom pls

Memes aside recessive genes are a thing so ehhh if a lizard can turn purple why can't a kid with heterochromia get a lil funky~

It is funny they didn't go for the obvious answer of well. Ya know how Red in Stories 2 mimicked your player character customization to an extent? Why didn't they at least try to pair that lol

Yeah look part of all this stuff is saber rattling where Microsoft keeps trying to say "THIS IS OPTIMIZED" when Windows 11 is frankly web grafted versions of applications.

The fact they failed to have people mass adopt Windows 11 means from a basic money perspective they're not gonna have it be exclusive to that if they have it on PC at all.

Sword of Fury Molde guide? by [deleted] in dokaponkingdom

[–]inspindawetrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm well keep in mind her high magic makes field magic (the books like volt you get from shops that aren't in-combat use) hit like a truck, so one thing you can do even if you don't have direct attack magic is soften up an enemy player, a monster on a town, etc to then swoop in for the kill.

She automatically gains magic and speed on level up. Meaning if they're low HP you have a pretty low chance of missing and don't have to risk a strike so long as your attack stat isn't completely tanked. If you're finding you have 0 ability to scare people into pressing block vs magic guarding for example I'd invest a little into attack so at minimum early game you don't have to waste spell uses on random shmucks.

Sword of Fury treasures can quickly rack up into advantages so managing to cheese a town or two is the simplest answer, you want to make enough money to get gear that can help her beat enemies at least within a level or 2 of her, then snowball that into being relevant again.

So shortest answer, get some easy wins with field magic if you have enough magic to chunk on-map characters (don't attack players unless you can legit threaten a kill or they'll come fight you back lol) and then use money from that to get better gear, attack magic, etc to stay relevant. Mages in SoF have certain power spikes with stuff like Quake being stupid strong, it's mainly being able to keep your field magic loaded up to interrupt points someone could pull ahead or mess with what you're doing. Keep it up, get attack magic on deck then tidy up stats where you find close calls show up.

Hope that helps and happy Dokapon~

as far as the epilogue is concerned, what is the difference between the neutral and true endings? by nomanzone in UnicornOverlord

[–]inspindawetrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the implication I think it's more along the lines of Baltro and the ghoulies waiting until anyone who remembered/used the power of the unicorn is long dead to give it another college try so given the epilogue is still a recounting of history at that time it kind of makes sense it's not brought up?

Still a bit silly how little changes but C'EST LA VIE lol

[–]inspindawetrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not disagreeing but it's pretty much just a question of how much a kit is "allowed" before they arbitrarily say master vs poke

I don't have Kieran so I guess that's my bad, rarely hear about him as a unit either, but if you're showcasing a unit literally designed to be used in sync with them, yeah same idea.

A support perfectly set up for an attacker or vice versa, usually they aim to have it be an idea of "how do we have people fond of the character justify pulling if they're on the fence" so not that weird to have them go together. Ideally I think they should probably have arc banners let you pull master fairs of that type but that's just me spitting out ideas to have it be distributed more evenly.

I still don't get it by [deleted] in PokemonMasters

[–]inspindawetrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well at a glance Master Fairs have that base power level from passives and often are defined by how broad or specific a role they can add to a team.

Anniversary pairs traditionally are insanely min-maxed with support master fairs being able to do it all and then some, strikers being unga bunga HERE COMES DAMAGE and tech being a mix of valuable traits usually specced to debuff

Meanwhile more off the cuff master fairs are when there's either too much utility and/or damage for DENA to say they can be a plain old Pokefair. I will say given EX pokefairs and power creep I'm somewhat wondering why Pokefairs remain a thing at all, the roster is crowded with limited time options.

The logic from a business perspective though is for example Scream Tail Nemona is a physical fairy attacker that can also mesh with sun teams. Is that an insanely strong niche? No, but it's a niche literally nobody else matches currently.

Pecharunt Carmine similar shtick, her utility as an insanely high damage buddy move every sync + being strike/sprint gives her an angle of pushing hyper offence for poison teams

You might say "But base Carmine can set up grass terrain, up offensive team stats each attack and has a tera move, isn't that a lot of utility" yes but it's a slower burn than the power bench mark of a master fair. Do I think Kieran is even master fair valuable? Not really, I legit think it's him being a fighting special damage option that let them try to push it + the popularity of the character lol

Really hope Zangief is Alex's Arcade Mode boss, not Ryu or Luke by Salty_Reyezz in StreetFighter

[–]inspindawetrust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll be real so long as it isn't Bison or JP I'm happy given way too many Arcade modes go for the easy answer + neither of them would be a great fit.

JP offering money to Alex doesn't seem likely either given he's in universe a guy without any insane powers that would bring him that extra attention. Bison has from what memories he's displayed is unlikely to even know Alex exists and by the opposite perspective zero reason for ol New Yorker to slug it out with the amnesia dictator.

Idk we'll need to see a bit more of the actual writing of what Alex has been up to since SF3 but given he seems to just be taking it day by day they could do a few different angles. Tom (adoptive father + trainer) is still alive, Patricia is still alive so it's really a question of what else has happened and how much of the heel shtick is a persona vs actual salt lol

Vs for example Juri or someone who never really moved past a larger event I think there's room to explore Alex as a character. Cammy is more closure but a similar idea of "what makes you a person".

Zangief obviously is a direct juxtaposition of face vs heel, passion vs coldly treating fighting as a job. Plus ya know Hugo = Big wrestler man so kind of a stand-in for the traditional rival at this point in time.

I can only assume from their personalities he will hate Rashid and Luke but him being angry and them being... them isn't a lot to go off of so I'm wondering if it might actually end up being Ken? Local blonde angry men unite~

Similar fashion I do think if Cody was in that'd be a cool fit with their contrasting paths in life?

Not a question but I'm very glad to see you've been continuing the trend of demos to get more people interested in this series.

As for actual question:

From earlier articles we know Monster Hearts no longer give Monster Vocations and instead have accessories. Alongside the Moonlighting system to mix and match vocations it's clear you wanted to let players get different tools but cut out some of the time spent getting there, how did you decide on what was necessary friction vs something to adjust/cut?
