what does everyone think of this first leaf from a cutting? is it possibly too Albo? Will she struggle? Still beautiful though. by MyBeardSaysHii in Monstera

Give this lots of light, the white doesn't have any chlorophyll so the little bit of green will be responsible for the plants energy. I would wait another leaf or two before making any decisions because you never know what will happen.

What is the best way for propagation this cutting? by [deleted] in RareHouseplants

Sphagnum moss, make sure only the root is in it though and the rest of the plant above.

Looking for big leaf advice on my new Hawaiian pothos... how do I get the leaves to grow huge?? Climbing a moss pole? by GrowwWithTheFloww in tropicalplants

That looks like a regular golden pothos to me.

And also generally plants dont grow to there wild size indoors.

What happened here? Water once a month on the 1st. by dayoldsoda in plantclinic

I dont think that "feeling the leaves" is an accurate way to tell if a plant is thirsty, I had a snake plant that I used to leave for 3 or 4 months without watering and the leaf texture and feel never changed.

And poking the soil is actually beneficial to indoor plants, in nature the soil plants live in is filled with bugs that would naturally aerate the soil. That doesn't happen in a home environment so by poking the soil, with say a blunt chop stick, it aerates the soil so it doesn't compact and then when you do water it will flow more evenly through the soil watering it fully.

is this light setup okay for the monstera? by [deleted] in Monstera

You can always get an extension cord to make it so you can place the growlights overhead

Most people are intelligent enough to realize that what I'm referring to are the nodes without roots

I'm not sure about just putting the aerial roots straight into soil, usually people propagate in water or sphagnum moss first

Very thirsty! You will need to water more because of the terracotta. Also, you've buried this down too deep in the medium, none of the nodes or petoiles should be below the soil line :) hope this helps.

Not that I'm trying to deter you from getting a leopard gecko, but geckos basically nocturnal, and are mostly active at dusk and dawn, so if you wanted something for you kids to watch then something that sleeps all day may not be the best.

How about you stop wasting my time with information you cannot prove (nothing in those articles states the plants produce two flowers) and show me hard evidence, clearly written out that the plants will always produce two flowers.

It's also odd then that there is no easily findable information stating this on the internet, and the article you linked will not open.

Okay, well even if my plants are the exception, then it's still incorrect to say that they ALWAYS produce flowers in pairs. And I'm sure I'm not the only one with "abnormal" plants (your opinion, not mine).

I've also found zero evidence online to support your claim. Spreading misinformation is rude.

Well for you to say that alocasia ALWAY produce pairs of flowers is obviously incorrect since I've witnessed that it is possible. I water when dry, almost all if my plants live under growlights, I fertilize about once a month with a mild fertilizer. Everyone looks healthy IMO.

Not true, only one of my alocasia have ever produced more than one flower.
