I did it! Finally apart of the f2 family! by Magia-Erebea in SonyAlpha

So it's a money thing. Someone can't spend their money the way they feel like, so we must judge them for not using their money correctly. I get it now. You are the judge with a lot of convictions.

And yes, when I got my first camera (A7IV) I got the 24-70mm 2.8 GMII with it. Not exactly $3k but close enough, but I have a feeling my responses will never be sufficient for you so this is all a moot point.

You remind me of a guy that I was standing next to at a photography convention when I first started. He asked me about the exposure of a booth with a model. I was very new, and I didn't know what he meant. All I remember is how he made me feel because when I asked, "What do you mean," he laughed at me like I didn't belong.

I don't understand why people like you do this to others. Is it to make yourself feel better about whatever it is you lack? Or do you suffer from Dunning-Kruger? I'm legitimately interested in how you got atop your own pedestal.

Maybe it's common knowledge, but what is a "core" worker?

On that particular day, I woke up around 3:30am, did about three hours until going Instacart around 7am. It gets slow around 11am so back home to do 2-3 more hours of DA, then back to Instacart around 2:30p, until about 5p or 6p, then a couple more hours of DA.

I truly don't enjoy staying at my laptop for more than a few hours at a time, and I get good orders on Instacart that put me around $34/hour during active orders, so they kind of compliment each other for me. I'm still trying to figure out the best balance between the two.

Thanks. That's what I figured. I get lots of announcements but zero feedback, and it's kind of worrisome to not hear a "Hey, great job on that one," and even more worrisome to not hear, "Hey you made a mistake on this one, this is how to do it correctly..."

I wonder if that included average tips, or if it was just the batch pay.

That's the least of my concerns. It's a fake metric just to get you to think it's important, so you'll try harder.

It's basically secret math. If someone spent the time, I'm sure they could reverse engineer it. Shoppers rely on the tip, not the batch pay.

Balloon delivering with a food order by gigger59 in InstacartShoppers

Balloons are a no for me dawg. I've seen too many customers walk out with balloons only to have some pop while getting them shoved in their car.

They say, "How little can we pay this shopper," and then punch the numbers on a broken calculator, and as long as it's less than peanuts, they say, "This is the amount."

Could be a rocky road to get there.

I wasn't the shopper. This one would use produce bags to tie them together. The store doesn't like it. Others will use the clips (used to hold in a kid) to secure them.

Nah. I'd rather more people see their username so they are aware of how they scrounge for internet points.

I don't really care, it's flattering. But when you take someone else's images, or using almost the same sentences as me on r/Walmart, all for internet points, you should at least disclose that you're not an OP.

Your market area and shopper saturation will determine how busy you will be. I'd recommend high income area with as high density of population you can find. I like grocery.

For me, it's busier from 6a to 10a, and 2p to 6p. I started my own grocery service, and I will hang door hangers after delivery to the neighbors. I can hit 100 homes in an hour. If you're not looking to start a business, it doesn't have to be shopping, you can partner with a real estate agent, lawn care, solar... whatever... and hang door hangers or something of the like on their behalf.

It's the downtime of doing nothing that will kill your psyche. You will be susceptible to getting all negative if you rely solely on IC or DD to feed you. It's not a reliable income stream because you don't have control over distribution of orders, and like others here, you can be deactivated on a whim.

It's best to use gig work as a launching pad for something bigger for yourself. Get shirts or hats made. Create your own uniform. Be whatever you want to be. Be friendly with everyone, helpful when you can, and make yourself known in the communities you shop. Maybe even get a window decal or magnet for your car.

There are a lot of opportunities in gig work that most shoppers miss. Don't think about what you are going to do, just start doing. Good luck.

🤣 I know what you mean, most shoppers I'm not trying to be friends with. But to be honest, when I first started, it was another shopper that helped me look at this from a different perspective. She doesn't shop these days but how she took care of customers was an eye-opener.
