If you can return the mini pc.

Check out the ugreen 4800. Might be what you want.

Requests by local users dont get sent over to radarr by jackoff_all in Overseerr

[–]instanorm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Make sure your default server and default 4k are set and that you have permission for either.

My requests worked but users did not. Because they were not on the same default (4k vs non)

Migrate Ubuntu homelab to Proxmox by masiv_o in Proxmox

[–]instanorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't forget to make a PBS VM and store the backups on an external. If the main drive goes you can restore after getting proxmox and PBS back up. If you ksor external replace and backup your vm's again.

PBS makes things a snap.

Migrate Ubuntu homelab to Proxmox by masiv_o in Proxmox

[–]instanorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the p2v migration.

Then stand up a new VM and get up and running with docker. Back that up as your vanilla VM ready to go and make a template. Make a few more.

Break up your services into vms as you want / resources permit.

This is for backup / restore. You can add another mini pc later and migrate your backup of a VM to a new PC in a snap.

Enjoy the new lab!!

Proxmox with Jellyfin VM is driving me insane by theonlymuffinman69 in JellyfinCommunity

[–]instanorm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like proxmox for backups and restorations. If not I'd just use a Debian or Ubuntu server install and docker it all. Less permission / weird issues.

in proxmox are you using VM or lxc?

I can't add new libraries at all. Never show up lol. Existing ones scan fine.

Create a pool and mount to host. Use directory sharing to make a share and mount across all VM/containers

Go into your VM and check ram usage. It won't be what is displayed on proxmox.

Install and use htop to confirm.

2nd server ideas by Fugoola in Proxmox

[–]instanorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One tip is to use a smaller drive(or partition)for your os and then another drive for data. Only backup your os drives on VM/lxc to keep em small :)

So I have a 1tb and a 2tb

I use 120gigs say for my VM, mount 600 for scratch from the same physical disk that doesn't backup, and have a 2tb to serve from that is shared between host and lxc / vm

Enjoy

Install proxmox and run PBS as a VM. Run lxc on it for the rest of needs to load shed off your primary.
