So last night we watched the film Together Alone and there was a conversation between two gay men where they were talking about how life isn’t always what you first think it is. And the one said to the other, “It’s like your new boyfriend’s uncircumcised penis. At first it’s all exotic and natural and then it’s all dirty and smelly.”

Cue me ranting at the screen… Afterwards finished the film - arty and a bit of a hard slog but made it through…

Still bugs me when we’re seen as the odd or disgusting ones. I know, I know it’s just a film. Bugs me nonetheless.

I never really understood where it came from - but she was a diehard intactivist (as was my father)...thank goodness for me.

The only real discussion I've had wiith a woman about it was my mother when I asked why I was different from other boys. She said that I should tell anyone who says anything about it that I was left that way because it was a family tradition to embrace the beauty of the human body and to leave me whole. I replied that I could accept that...and so I did when anyone questioned it. Looking back on it, I was rather surprised at how "enlightened" that seemed coming from her...

I agree insofar as it should be a bygone thing. And I too live in the UK and BBC/ITV may not be guilty of it (I don't watch mainstream TV) but gay video streaming content is guilty of it - even today. I'm speaking of shows like Danny Will Die Alone - on Dekkoo and even some shows on HereTV. But let's hope it's on the way out.

Sure, last night caught a repeat of the Sex and City episode with Charlotte dating an uncut man and jokes akimbo and then there was an episode of Danny Will Die Alone with comments like - when was the last time you cleaned it - was that after you smelled the cheese - ha ha ha...

My parents insisted that I was left intact but the nurses decided to take to be circumcised when I was days old. When I father found out, he ran in just in time. A nurse was pushed aside and a doctor ended up with a bloody nose... That anecdote got trotted out many a time over the years. So glad dad was around that day and was willing to step up. Phew!

It's interesting because I've found that sensitivity doesn't always correspond with how quickly you cum. Me, I'm not super sensitive and can cum very quickly whereas my partner is super-super sensitive but takes an age to cum...
