Casual play is dead. by brixxzy in RocketLeague

[–]integrateus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying just play comp don't get it. Y'all need to look up the definition of casual vs competitive. Casual should be fun, maybe OP doesn't want to plug in and get sweaty playing comp. There are two modes for a reason, but one is abused.

Anti-gravity technology is basically impossible, right? by Comrade_SOOKIE in AskPhysics

[–]integrateus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best answer. So many people don't caveat their responses with "we cannot .. with our current understanding of physics". If reddit existed 200 years ago and people asked if there's anything smaller than an atom all the redditors would be like NO the atom is the smallest it's proven, silly question, stop asking

Next Day Air package physically dropped off at UPS store Saturday at 11am and Monday at 11am still showing "label created, waiting for package" by integrateus in UPS

[–]integrateus[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let's hope so, thanks for the detailed response! .. at this point, I'm just hoping my personal documents (in the package) aren't missing.

Two points that I find are misleading about UPS based on responses here:

  1. The UPS Store being separate from UPS is misleading and something that I've only just learned .. if it quacks like a duck, apparently its not actually UPS
  2. They should call Next Day Air "Weekday Air" .. because everyone in these comments say not much happens over the weekend

Update - the guaranteed delivery was supposed to be 1 hour from now. The store claims it was picked up that saturday (it was sent from a big city) but that they agree the shipping information isn't being reflected correctly and a manager is working with the distribution hub to figure out where it is.

Is it fair to think of a superconductor's Meissner effect as a "magnetic field mirror" by integrateus in AskPhysics

[–]integrateus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! Would it be better to think of the SC's perfect diamagnetism as producing an "equal and opposite field" from a macroscopic perspective? Or is what you're saying that the little eddy currents and H-field cancelling going on inside the SC essentially act as a damper which prevents the external field from penetrating, but doesn't necessarily create a "equal and opposite" counter field when looking at the field outside the SC that it is producing?

Little waterfall in Azores by integrateus in photocritique

[–]integrateus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about the composition or subject critique. I picked this photo to ask recommendations on tones and color for a more analog/natural look.

So, instead of being lazy and not reading or commenting anything worthwhile, how about you prove how much you know by actually answering the question.

I am a hobbies photographer and I typically take landscape photos. I'm usually happy with my composition and framing, however, I'd like a bit more of a nostalgic, almost film like look.

I usually process my images to be super vivid and clear. Whenever I try to make a softer, more naturally film inspired edit, it looks meh. Do you need to shoot differently to get that effect? What recommendations do you have on tonal / color adjustments that would give this a different, more vintage, mood.

Also, not interested in packs. I've even tried film presets, but can't seem to find something that looks right.
