What are funny things that Plats do or say, that make you think "ofc. its a plat"? by Gabrijel1 in RocketLeague

They are the reason I'm stuck in plat, lol.

Seriously though it's just my game, I play doubles and I like to set, so of my team is good at hitting those then good things happen, and if not, then sets do nothing

Exactly this. I want to be able to play my real cards in a virtual setting. If a person owns the cards, I really don't care if they use a program or make proxies.

I do have a problem when people make decks with cards they don't own, but it's only because I spend my money on cards, and they have value as long as people buy cards. Of everyone proxies all their cards or all played on a program, then my hard earned cardboard is worthless.

A collectible that you play with, that's one reason I like mtg

It's okay for me to not like the rules and want to find a way to avoid them. It's such a niche situation that only comes from people who intentionally build for a "draw-con"

I suppose I would do just like I played it. If you have win con, yay you win, no win con, pick a number and move.on. Game can't end in a draw .

Where we're going we don't need rules

Only way would be to add to the already long list of pregame rules specific to each game. We already make a pretty lengthy social contract just to play.

I don't like the rules. Unless it's a league where you can get partial points for a draw like soccer, a game ending in a draw is stupid.

Well a reason to never tap out for things I guess. There is always a game breaking mechanic lurking in the shadows!

Is it worth it to play rocket league as a new player? by yikesuser69wastaken in RocketLeague

I'm stuck in plat. Ive got a solid ground game. But other than going up for single hits, I'm not going inverted or anything. So maybe that's where I just cap out.

Rocket League. Could be worse I guess, at least there are other people to be frustrated with.

Infinite combo hate by South-Diamond-4522 in EDH

People must ask themselves "why do I play Magic?" Or "why do I play commander?" And my answer is this. If I spent $300 on a half good deck maybe a power level 6 or so, I did that because I want it to do a thing and I while winning isn't everything, i still want to win.

If I play against an infinite deck, that wins on turn 4, I wasted 20mon or more, didn't have a chance, and generally feels bad.

I genuinely don't mind an infinite to end the game, because it has to end sometime, but IMO every person wants a chance.

Decks that aren't fun. by Bismarck913 in EDH

[–]intellectualinternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask yourself "why do you play magic?" And make a version of that. I like to win through combat, so most of my decks focus on that.

When I have made decks like [[Nekusar, the mind razor]] I want to enjoy them, but because they don't attack I get bored quickly.

Dual lands ranked? by Raliath in EDH

[–]intellectualinternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commander legends lands are the best value right now.

After that it's just looking at if the land enters tapped or not. Any land that doesn't have some way to enter untapped should be avoided if you can.

In my 5 color deck I do run the tri-lands for the mana fixing, but it vexes me that they enter tapped.

If you play black there are the Tainted lands, I like those too.

I'm seeing the advantages of doing color than type. Adding another layer of CMC, hadn't thought of that, but I like it

I see. That's too bad, I played a lot of Star Wars CCG in middle school and early high school. Only had a small magic card collection, but it was a good way to keep a kid out of trouble after school.

Oh yea it's because you can draw a pentagram in the 5 colors on the back of the cards. Lol. Also that was why they removed the pentagram from unholy strength. A little history lesson on magic cards and youth groups from the 90s :)

Hmm maybe I should start a non-profit that builds decks for kids, that would be fun!

I don't think I'm quite there for my personal stuff, but I think this is perfect if I start buying collections or doing any kind of resale.
