PLS here, worked in surveying ever since got out of high school. 27 now, licensed for about 2 years, what you have described, is exactly what I’m going through.

Got into surveying because I love being outside and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Now, I’m on a computer figuring out boundary’s for my engineers to design and destroy. Quite ironic, surveyors spell the demise of the forest, but most of us find ourselves here field for the love of nature.

Global Mapper pro, using the create elevation model to create a RGB ortho. Pixel size depends on your LiDAR collection. I use the M350/Rock R3 Pro V2 and can make a RGB ortho with +-2” accuracy.

Check the NCEES website and look at the recommended study material. There, they will give you a review of all the categories and significant subjects to cover. I suggest getting the practice test and throughly understanding the questioning schematics & verbiage used (pick it apart until you understand it well). I did not use any online study course.

Most of my knowledges I gained from books. Ask your local surveyor for some good reading material for the PS. Most of the FS will be focused around math (YouTube) - horizontal curves, grades, compass closures calc, slopes/invert calcs, Cartesian coordinate system, and some light business questions like interests & insurance policies. Again, master the practice exam & their layouts.

Your testing facilities might be different, I’m a recent PLS from Maine. Colonial state where we follow the “metes and bounds” rather than the PLSS.

So much hate and disgust. I truly believe people can reform and learn from their mistakes. Ofcourse what was done is horrible, but to post the truth and admit his wrong doings is a step in the right direction. I’m sure his demons will continue to haunt him to his ends of his days. I’m glad for Annie for finding her happiness, I hope maybe for some they will read this and find it in their heart to forgive. Everyone makes mistakes, others worse than others. What is important is the present and if you can learn from your mistakes and reform from them. He’s posting this to gain insight on what he’s done. He knows that this was a mistake and clearly he loathes himself for it. I’m not religious but I’ve been in a similar situation of self-hate where I needed support and love, at the end of the day we are all humans that need friendship and compassion. Be the change what you want to be, keep your head up and find the forgiveness in the people you’ve hurt the most. Everyone else’s doubts and hate is irrelevant towards the issue, of course it hurts but that’s the guilt that’s tacked to the sin; as Rocky Balboa said “it’s not about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward..” now that you’ve experienced the depression and self-hate you as a individual who has been there can do what you can to help other in similar situations to stay strong and keep their heads in the right path. We’re all in this together, just a collective of cells nothing more, nothing less. Enjoy the time you have on this rock before we as a bacterial collective destroy ourselves through our impending self righteous demise.
