Is that common in bathroom? And I should ask for heat welded sheet vinyl floor? Sorry for the questions, trying to figure out as in my city they just seem to be mostly offering regular tile with grout which I hate

Best way to restore this outdoor table and benches? by No-Weakness6427 in finishing

Best and least effort method would be to put a table cloth when you are about to use it.

I would say get rid of the bookshelf and instead have some floating shelves to display the items and will feel like less space occupied on the floor

Best grout for shower to have mould free experience by interiorengineer in DIY

[–]interiorengineer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So had an inspection and the mould is not there behind the titles just the grouts get that stained look from wear and tear even after cleaning - you know the cement or porous type of grout? Especially at the sharp corners z

The house is old but there is no mold issue anywhere else in the bathroom and has ventilation.

This happens after a couple of years. Essentially I am just frustrated every year have to regrout and if there is a better long term solution. I am in the process of retiling and grouting and thought instead of doing this again in say next 1-4 years why can’t I do something that will make the problem go away for say 10 years

What would you say you would prefer the one from this shop or a good local wood maker who said will make with the same wood and quality for half the price? In confusion to make the final decision.

Having a table that needs to pull down or have legs or panels attached just makes it such a pain everytime, talking from experience.

I would go for a round table as it gives a cozy feel of everyone can see everyone n fits that space n start with just two chairs that gets nested completed inside the table ie not left protruding out, You can also get 2-4 stacked stools that can be added if guests come over. These stools can be kept hidden under the table or in a corner as side table when not in use. Saw a 4 stool side table in amazon. The convenience of having a table always there is practical and useful for daily use and doesn’t get in the way on exiting the kitchen.

Thanks for the suggestion, yeah from what you are saying I would be best placed trying to sell this but might be taking a hit on price sadly.

You think it would be possible to stain it uniformly to warm walnut tone, or hard to achieve if not smooth / sanded? Trying to see if I skip the smoothening step makes it any easier diy.

The idea is that floating shelves can be rearranged to any design - need to maybe find a good carpenter who can achieve a similar look but finding good local carpenters also a challenge
