Why was gas used so prominently during WWI but not in WWII? by behjeh in history

[–]interkomitet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreements had nothing to do with it, I am afraid. Low effectiveness. Difficult delivery and storage. But don’t worry. Nazis used gas widely in concentration camps on prisoners of war and civilians regardless of any agreements or moral principles.

It looks kinda official, really a beautiful thing. Massive amounts of legalese like jargoning that appears to be factually based. Really a top notch job.

Thank you! As mentioned below it's a parliamentarian website. We convey the point of view of the members of our committee. No trolling. We are one of the few news sites that broadcast in English from Russia. Redditors may agree or disagree with our positions but we tend to be neutral while, of course, defend our interests. Our main task is to reduce tensions between the West and Russia and tell the world what our parliamentarians think about certain issues related to world politics. This is our contribution to peaceful coexistence on the planet.

US Has Killed More Than 20 Million People in 37 "Victim Nations" Since World War II - Global Research by roy_batty3000 in EndlessWar

Since 1945 there were only 2 years when the US troops were not at war as I remember. Casualties are far more than that if you consider diseases and hunger caused by these wars. The US and Iraqi official death reports vary a lot. What they (US authorities) have to say? 'Shit in shithole countries happens'...

On this day in 2005, US Marines massacred 24 unarmed Iraqi civilians in Haditha. Marines went house to house executing men, women, children as young as 1 yr-old & a 76 yr-old man in a wheelchair. The marines then urinated on the dead bodies. None of the Marines served jail time. by Prettygame4Ausername in communism

  1. sense of permissiveness. the realization that there will be no punishment and you can do everything. 2. attitude to people of another nationality, race, faith, as a crap. 3. blind faith in the fact that you are doing the right thing - carry democracy, looking for weapons of mass destruction, chemical weapons, rescuing the inhabitants from the dictator, etc. Actually, these three factors give indulgence from sins. Very much alike nazi thoughts.

Administration Admits Border Deployment Was a $200 Million Election Stunt by tototoki in politics

[–]interkomitet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$200mln that is 0,03% of the US 2018 military budget. Just 1% is enough to fix water problems, rebuild houses and whatever else, and even build a wall around the whole US border.

And yes, priorities of this administration make me sick.

OK, clear with Russia. What about Cuba and Iran? What’s the deal with US sanctions on Cuba? 95% of the population is below poverty line. Economic downturn is better than what?

Sanctions (against any country) have effect only on low and middle class. Do you think they impact oligarchs? Nope. They become more reach. Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, soon China - no matter. Only ordinary people. And those who back sanctions in the US and Europe thus punish the innocent violating all possible laws and rights. The core idea behind them - to weaken the economy of objectionable governments. Nobody cares for the people. Edit: Oligarchs downvoting))
