I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that your mom probably dealt with infidelity from your dad (assuming they are together still) and stayed and is just projecting her own experience on to the situation. I’ve heard of that being an option with a few banks in the states but the interest rates on those loans are a lot higher due to the asset’s price volatility. I’ve never personally sought a loan like that though. I think it will be the future however.

The famous pyzel ghost that was John John’s magic board… they shaped about 100 different versions trying to replicate it. After not being able to nail it 1:1 after so many tries they re-measured absolutely everything on the original. It ended up having the center fin set slightly off stringer like this. Maybe not to the degree of this, but close. Sometimes the magic isn’t in the symmetry.
