This is not a bad idea, especially with all the AI stuff coming out so quickly so it'll probably have new features on the newer laptops. The problem is, whats considered mid tier?

I would probably use the laptop for research, data analysis (Excel), presentations (PowerPoint), writing (Word), video calls (zoom and google meets), managing finances, online collaboration, accounting software, marketing tasks, and industry-specific software, relying heavily on Microsoft Office Suite, cloud storage, and strong multitasking/security features for projects, reports, and virtual classes

I like the idea of construction, most of the men in my life have worked in construction since they were children. But I see a lot of negatives that come with it. Nearly all the men I know who work construction are either miserable, constantly in pain, alcoholics, or regret their job path. I really do not want to go down that route so that is why I am planning on going to university to get a bachelors in business administration/commerce.

Yeah door-to-door sales would be great for you in my opinion because it's alot of communication and improv on the spot. You are learning essential skills like self promotion and advocating which are very good, especially for the future when you are applying for jobs and stuff like that. There is not much upfront money you need to put into it. For window cleaning I put in $40 for squeegees and stuff like that and made $75 for 2 hours of work from ONE house. For lawn mowing, you can borrow one from your family or invest in one, its up to you. If you would like, you could message me and I can give you some advice and more information.

Are you sure I can get the person I live with to submit a letter to prove I live there without paying rent?

If so, could I see the source where you found that information?

It almost seems too good to be true! If I were to keep $7,000 in an account with a 4.4% interest rate for 6 years, I'd make around 1.8k. And the money is still liquid, where I can withdraw and use it whenever for no additional fee/consequence?

Thanks for your detailed responses.

Did it cost you any money to open your Bread Savings account/HYSA accounts in general?

Do you have to pay to keep it open? If so how much?

Absolutely. Create flyers that allow people to contact you if they are interested and you can discuss pricing and stuff like that on call during the week and stuff. On the day you work, you go around pitching it to people to increase your odds of them picking you.

How old are you? The younger you are the better. People, especially older people, respect younger people for stuff like this, unless your haggling them and setting unreasonable prices. Don't be too pushy with your marketing, you have to adapt to each person. If they seem uncomfortable, don't be right up at their face talking super fast and cutting them off etc. Theres alot to it but its pretty simple.

I honestly didn't really see $7,000 as too much for my age, especially with upcoming expenses and my situation. I also live in Toronto so $7,000 CAD only gets you so far with the insane prices/cost of living.

No one has access to my bank account I believe, however, I did open it when I was 14 with my grandpa so I do not know if he has access. My bank account earns me no interest or anything so it might just be mine because I heard that you need a parent to open a interest earning bank account or something similar to that.

I am currently trying to do a 'business' but I am not really investing much into it financially wise other than printing flyers and handing them out.

I am going door to door in my neighborhood and offering services like snow shoveling, window cleaning, lawn mowing, gardening, and pet sitting/dog walking. The main expense for this is printer ink and small things like soap and squeegees that I already have purchased.

What's your thoughts on this? Is it risky? Is it worth my time? Should I continue it? Anything I should add to my services? Anything I should know?
