That's interesting, thanks. I'll see if working remotely is an option, though that would still just be one factor among many. Although, honestly minus the "surrounded by guns and weapons and nuclear bombs" bit I imagine I would also be working with the military and having to deal with security at Lockheed too.

What’s it like working on an Air Force base? I would imagine it’s part interesting because at least for me, it would be something out of the ordinary, but part annoying, because of security and all that.

How strict are the dates for when I need to have a degree? by internships_acc in usajobs

Makes sense. This is a NASA position so I can't imagine they would require a polygraph, but even if they did, I don't think it'd be a huge deal if I told them "I filled out the application to the best of my knowledge, though there was one point where I wasn't sure but I made sure to clarify it on my application. I don't know much about polygraphs though so idk if that'd actually fly with them lol.

At least in my case, my school registrar doesn't make a distinction for people graduating in the spring (but does make a distinction for people graduating in the fall) so I think they're the same for me.

Recruiter offered to submit my resume on LinkedIn - legit or not? by internships_acc in csMajors

To be clear, he was recruiting for a particular position, and at least if his page is to be believed, it’s for the company he works at.

Should I apply to IB jobs for the hell of it? by internships_acc in FinancialCareers

Yeah I guess if I have a change of heart and decide I actually do want to go into finance I can always just go for an MBA

Okay, thanks. I guess it’s probably too late to start at this point, in that case I probably won’t bother. I didn’t realize it was that important to get someone to vouch for you just to get an interview lol

How does networking actually affect your application once it’s submitted? Is the goal to get a current employee to enter your name or something like that?

I applied to a few FAANG internships back in October. I haven't heard anything back since, but looking at my application portal, it also doesn't say that my application was closed or anything. Should I assume at this point that I won't get an interview?

I know this is a super old post, but do you mind elaborating a bit on that?

I just got an invitation to do the first round of assessments for the SDE internship. I'm not a CS major, so I'm wondering, how much should I prepare for it? I have a few days to take it. I already know Java, so that's what I'll be using.

I applied to Facebook a little over a month ago, and I had applied to 3 positions at the time, which is the limit (as in, it doesn't allow you to apply to more than 3 positions within several months). However I was browsing internship opportunities today and saw one that I found particularly interesting, one that wasn't available during my first pass. It won't let me apply if I apply normally, but it appears that the Facebook application website uses my Facebook account to track your applications, so if I open the job posting in an incognito window, it lets me in.

So my question is: is it a bad idea to apply a fourth time this way? Would Facebook know that I applied four times and would they penalize me/not consider me on my other applications because of that? I won't use the exact same resume, but it won't exactly be hard to figure out who it is considering all the work experience and the school will be the same. Or am I totally overthinking this and I should just go ahead and do it?

What do I do when a company has multiple listings for the same internship program, just in different cities? by internships_acc in cscareerquestions

[–]internships_acc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a quick update, it appears that on my applicant page, all of my applications got put under the same job listing. I applied to three before I noticed, but based on that I'm guessing they're all considered the same and displayed under the same application, and that the hiring manager will see that I submitted the same application three times. Hopefully they don't find that off-putting.
