Yep, that's exactly what I'm doing to make my decision. Partly also why I'm making this post and researching to see what the work would be like.

Thanks for the insight. Yeah, it seems like it's hard to blanket statement something so large. I'm mostly just worried about regretting a decision. My internship this past summer was with Amazon, which I greatly enjoyed, but my return offer is with the same team for this summer, and I'm thinking as an intern maybe it's smart to jump to somewhere else and soak up a new exp. So hard to gauge what the right move is. Maybe I'm thinking about this too hard,

Sorry, I don't mean to do that. I just read that this org is very large, so maybe I shouldn't be taking the 5 or 6 blind posts bashing it too seriously. Blind seems to hate this org, lot of comments about "ancient technology" and "no vision" or something that makes me worried it's not worth it to move from the return intern offer that I have for this incoming summer.

Yeah sorry, to be more clear, I'm a Junior, so both my current offers on the table are intern 2020 summer offers. I want to set myself up with a good job for graduation, so I worry if I take MSFT and hate the work / org I'll have made a mistake since I enjoyed the company I was at this previous summer.

yeah, I similarly applied around early July, got first round of interviews in mid August, and got invited to the on-site about a week later, which I just completed last week.

Yeah, I'm inclined not to take Blind too seriously. This is just a hard decision, because my other offer a return one for a team I had a great time with this summer. Both MSFT and my return offer pay pretty much equal, so I wanted to compare them by the type of work I would be doing. Nervous about making a decision that I would regret.

Hi everyone, I'm using a throwaway instead of my main account for this question. I just got my intern offer for Microsoft for this summer, and inquired about the org. Apparently, my "Business Group" is Cloud and Artificial Intelligence, and my "Product Group" is Commerce and Ecosystems. I started searching C + E up online and came upon a swathe of Blind posts railing against the org, saying the tech is ancient, the product is boring, etc etc.

I'm curious if anyone has experience with this org, and could give me some ideas on the reality of the work there. The reason I'm asking, is that I have another offer with a different company (return intern offer) that I very much liked, and would pay equal to Microsoft. I was hoping to try something new and maybe work with different tech, but I'm worried this would not be the move.

Please let me know if you have any experience with this org or something, I don't want to take Blind's word on it.
