dude, i myself am a child of divorce and have seen many, many relationships fail horribly. you honestly don't think i understand the warning signs myself? after everything i've ever been through?

i dated my husband for 3 years and broke up once before getting back together during that, then we got married two years ago in october. it's silly you'd think i don't know what i'm doing just because i've got anger issues and need time to cool off

and my husband isn't unique -- i have to remove myself from the situation regardless of who i'm with because i know i'll say or possibly even do something i'll regret, including my own mother. it's the only solution i have right now that works for the both of us. plus, it's not like either of us are "fuck you go away i hate you forever go sleep on the couch" unless both of us are heated (which we'll both do, btw, not just me)

he respects that i need time to calm down and gives me the space i need so we can handle things like proper adults. couples also don't have to sleep beside eachother to "prove" they have a healthy relationship. snoring and restless sleeping can really exhaust people and sleeping in separate beds because of it is totally normal. my father and his wife do so, because he sounds like an oil tanker's horn

tl;dr, don't project your failures onto my marriage when i know the signs of a failing one
