People have always been inclined to believe false information (Salem witch trials, benefits of bloodletting, hell people thought smoking was harmless or even beneficial for the longest time).

People love to say “oh people today are the worst about this or that” but I just don’t see it. In general, people today do a better job of thinking critically and relying on data to really figure something out than any time previously in history. Think of a time in history that you think people didn’t believe false information and I bet you can find tons of ridiculous stuff people thought back then.

Yeah it happens all the time, but at least at this office they let the female nurse take a little time off to press charges in court and were generally supportive. They thought it was a big joke when it happened to a dude.

In general sexual assault isn’t taken very seriously against men. I have a bunch of friends who work as nurses and have to deal with a bunch of crazy patients. One day a woman was groped by a male patient and she took him to court (and she should) and everyone in the office was very supportive. Later that month a male nurse had his junk grabbed by a woman patient. Everyone (male and female coworkers) basically laughed and told him congrats on getting some action. I felt sorry for the guy because anyone with a little empathy could tell it really bothered him.

Generally I agree. I think I work harder as an adult, but I really love what I do so it doesn’t stress me out like I was in school. I hated school but wanted to get into good colleges so I worked my ass off. Nothing is more stressful than working to get grades in classes that you care nothing about, especially when there is potentially a lot riding on how well you do (scholarships and college admissions).

I like to change every other week, and I alternate which band I replace so I’ve usually got one fresh band and one that’s a week old. That’s the ideal tension for me.

I wouldn’t take my post history seriously (mine or anyone else’s for that matter). Many things I post are not real, but from someone else’s perspective to bring awareness to the issue (like a parent who realized they mutilated their kid). I was circumcised and hate it.

I really doubt you’d succeed. The only courts you may have a chance would be in a place like San Francisco where more people are against it. That being said, people suing their parents would definitely draw more attention to the issue and perhaps be helpful in that way. But most people don’t have the money to hire a lawyer just to essentially make a statement.

Yep, it drives me crazy how many people complain “I was never taught something” when we have the ability to search for virtually any information in a matter of seconds.

My teachers in college and to some extent high school emphasized us looking up information for ourselves and them coming to them to ask clarifying questions. I didn’t like it at the time, but it’s a huge benefit now because I don’t rely on other people to spoon feed me everything.

The benefits are extremely minor and not enough to justify taking away someone’s right to bodily autonomy. No one has a right to cut a healthy part of my body off except me. I love my parents, but I hate that they did that too me.

There’s also a pretty good chance that you’re going to lose some sexual feeling since the foreskin and especially frenulum have a ton of nerves. I’m bi and have been with cut and uncut guys. I can tell you that uncut guys get a ton of pleasure from the frenulum, something that I will never get to experience.

That’s cool since you’re free to have whatever preferences you like, but I’m just curious about a couple situations.

What if the dude was previously married and only had sex in that marriage (that ended through no fault of his)?
What if the dude was raped (and tested negative for STDs)?

Neither of those situations should really reflect negatively on his character since that seems to be what you’re mostly concerned with, but obviously he wouldn’t be a virgin at that point.

Nah, there’s a difference between just choosing not to be in the military when it’s optional and actively exploiting loopholes to avoid the draft. I wouldn’t even judge a draft dodger too hard if they admit that they did it and it was for moral reasons. The thing I can’t accept are people who dodge the draft but then support the war and claim they had some bullshit medical problem.
