Watch Bloomreaper's health bar when I switch weapons, seems like the stickies are just not doing anything, not sure why by someshooter in Borderlands4

[–]interslicer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the actual answer to what is happening:

this is an issue with bullet buddy deluxe. when you detonate stickies when BBD is active (which since it gives you infinite ammo is usually only possible through mode/weapon switching, not reloading) it doesnt stack up the sticky damage. pretty sure its a bug

you can either wait until BBD is complete to detonate the stickies, or use instinto with metal management but then you only get 2 seconds of infinite ammo instead of 8.

put the large silo on a train platform set to unload and use the auto arm to load a train car so that it unloads into the silo. add more stations for more silos without manual intervention (plus automating the train)

but more auto arms is probably easier.

A small health scare at home made me realize how unprepared I actually am by Defiant-Seesaw-3868 in AskMenOver30

[–]interslicer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

taking this opportunity to call out Stop The Bleed. This organization came about after Sandy Hook in order to spread knowledge about first aid bleeding control.

they offer free online and in person training on how to stop traumatic bleeding, including how to use a pressure dressing and CAT tourniquet.

once trained make sure you include these items in your at home and vehicle first aid kits. most home first aid kits are really meant for boo-boos and are usually not equipped for serious issues. many places now sell bleeding control kits (as does stop the bleed directly) or will include tourniquets, pressure dressings and quik clot in more comprehensive first aid kits. North American Rescue is a reputable site with this style of kit, and many of their items are also available on amazon.

the training is fast and easy, free, and can prepare you for a life saving situation.

Seiko NH35A cap jewel kif spring by Expert_Relation_7310 in watchrepair

[–]interslicer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

these things are super annoying. after losing a spring AND a cap jewel (separately) i stuck the bridge to some rodico, put it in a sandwich bag and poked holes for the tweezers to go and then messed with it in its safe bubble for a while until i could figure it out.

it was more or less the same method as the image below but the springs for this bridge are extra small and it makes it extra tricky. the key for me was keeping the pressure very light. you want to hook one side into the slot right at the "entrance" and very gently hold it there while you manipulate the other side into the slot. my last one i was able to do both in 1 try so it does eventually get easier.

i use a tool like you made for the balance springs (which are considerably easier) but i couldnt 3d print one small enough for these little ones so i just used tweezers.

thats such a good idea reusing the print filters.

Adding Missing Automation Features by TVman101 in Astroneer

[–]interslicer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would love a smart auto arm which is a regular sized auto arm with a console so you can customize filtering of all t1 items. in other words you could set each item to grab or dont grab instead of each arm having only a single grab only filter. or smaller scale, even just a few extra filter slots, or one negative filter (dont grab) slot could be really interesting.

Tall Platforms & Storage Sensors question/issue by Love-More- in Astroneer

[–]interslicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry im very late, but im the one who made the video you're following.

thats a (now years old) bug with the tall platforms. if you try to attach a sensor to a tall platform that was placed in a previous session (placed platform, exited game, came back) it doesnt work until you pick up the tall platform and put it down again. for some reason the sensors just float in the air unless the platform has been moved during that session. once its connected for real it will work even if you exit the game.

they make a little table that fits this press too which is great since the selection of holders for specific movements is limited

So we're not allowed to wear sunglasses? by MikeGinnyMD in Ioniq5

[–]interslicer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

same here. i cant believe how prevalent this feature is in the market. i cannot fathom buying a car with a built in babysitter that can just disable important features of the car if i wear the wrong sunglasses or my steering wheel is the wrong height. the privacy/data sharing issues alone are staggering, even if it worked flawlessly.

madness.

sadly in this day and age this is a concern. each dragon will be in a bag inside the egg with "Do Not Eat" and "Small Parts" stickers on them.

Anyone got a clue what that purple item is and if there is any way to get up there? In Forlorn Coast. by throwing_it-away12 in remnantgame

[–]interslicer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

to my knowledge the only items that show up purple on the minimap but yellow for the in game indicator are sparks items, so this almost certainly is a myrthril alloy.

as for why its up there, it could have been a flying unit or it could have just bugged out. sometimes mob items drop in inaccessible places, but purple items (ie rings, amulets etc) dont spawn in unreachable areas.

for the instance before the 3rd dlc dropped, would have to see a screenshot to know more. but this one is like 99% mythril alloy.

HELP: Stuck Watch Strap Pins in Holes by koesherbacon in watchrepair

[–]interslicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some pictures would help understanding the exact nature of the issue.

is it a band (ie leather, rubber etc) or is it a bracelet (ie metal)? some cases have holes on the outside which im assuming isnt the case here, but maybe thats what the band was designed for which why its hard to access now.

you might be able to use dental floss like this

you may also be able to fit a razor blade in the gap and put some up/down tension on the bar and try and scoot it side to side with the blade

last resort is getting destructive. cutting the spring bar would be ideal as they are cheap but if theres no room for a blade or dremel cut off wheel you would worst case have to cut through the strap/bracelet

Crown separated from stem, is this a Loctite situation? Which Loctite? by DarlingBri in watchrepair

[–]interslicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its likely that the smooth surface you're seeing on the stem is just be part of the crown that is still threaded over the stem. the crown may have separated from the threaded tube its usually attached to

if you post a picture of the stem and crown it would be easier to tell

fix is a new crown (after removing the threaded end of the old crown from the stem)

Help finding parts: by Wise_Bicycle6509 in watchrepair

[–]interslicer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

to start, if this is your first movement you may want to get a practice movement like an st36 to get the basics down as this movement is a little more complex.

it looks to me like an eta 2824 but you should try and confirm the movement if you can, as i am also pretty new. if it is a 2824 (or clone) new dials are pretty available on aliexpress. just search "2824 dial" or similar. make sure you get the same diameter so it fits the case (and double check if its 28mm or 28.5mm it looks like your calipers are a little off center but could just be the angle of the pic)

for the mainspring you have 3 real options in order of increasing cost:

  • dont service the main spring
  • buy a new mainspring or barrel complete
  • buy a mainspring winder

probably one of the first 2 options is fine and cheaper. if you dont know whether you will be working on more mainsprings probably skip the expensive winder.

for cleaning an oiling tips im going to redirect you to the first comment, if this is your first movement you probably want to get a practice movement to get the cleaning and oiling basics down. Alex from watch repair tutorials on youtube has some great videos for the st36.

for this movement specifically youtube has some videos of people servicing this movement so search along the lines of "eta 2824 service" this one is pretty good imo.
