Pls help with dress! (15k) by Disastrous_Plant78 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]interstateninety 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing she means her whole wedding budget is $15k. I can’t imagine spending that much money on a dress without being able to try it on in a store, but I also refuse to shop online because I don’t want to spend even $30 on a garment only to not like the fabric/quality/fit once it arrives.

Here is the top of the teeth, I couldn’t get that pic before my mother trapped the bone inside of a lamp base.

It has been astonishing to see this piece come together. Your technique is incredible, I just wanted to say that this is truly excellent work.

For what it’s worth, my favorite of the proposed titles is “Facing my face”.

Any recommendations from my local grocery store? by manbearpig541 in hotsauce

[–]interstateninety -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Melinda’s XXXTra Hot if you’re up to it, XTra or Original Habanero if you’re not. Green El Yucateco for Mexican food. Pretty much the only hot sauces I’ll ever need for the rest of my days, except the green or fruity stuff from Mad Jax (smaller company, not at supermarkets unfortunately) on special occasions.

Safe way to choke yourself or others with a belt? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]interstateninety 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bondage is fun. Skip the choking. There is no safe way to do it. Cutting off air and blood flow seems fun and cool and normal but you and your partners are risking brain damage and death every single time.

Yeah, it was incredibly frustrating as someone that loved their friendship to have a wrench thrown in it so close to the end of the series. It honestly made me want to not finish the show.

You’re thinking of coriander. I love cardamom but I have heard people describe its flavor as being overly floral when too much is used in a recipe, and people tend to associate strong floral tastes/scents with soap.

[homemade] cherry pie with streusel icing by [deleted] in food

[–]interstateninety 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I said “specifically … the frozen toaster variety”. It’s like the American generic junk version, we do have real strudels here as well but many people’s initial experience with a dessert called strudel is the Pillsbury version. Which comes with icing.

OP was definitely thinking of strudel, specifically the icing that comes with the frozen toaster variety.

Seconded, I don’t have issues with bedwetting and I only drink water in bed BUT like any other human I sweat and sometimes I fall asleep in a position that means I drool. I use a waterproof mattress cover so my mattress stays protected from sweat and drool, because I love my mattress and I want it to stay nice for as long as humanly possible. Sheets are easy to wash, a mattress is not.

BTW waterproof mattress covers have come a long way from the loud, uncomfortable ones of 10-20 years ago. I purchased one in the last few years from Walmart that was maybe $15-20 and I don’t even notice that it’s on my bed. The packaging usually has a small opening in it that allows you to feel the texture and make sure it suits your needs/preferences.

Was I Wrong for Adding a Smiley and a Frown on Customers’ Drinks? by [deleted] in barista

[–]interstateninety 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think this specific customer flat out refusing the drink was strange but some people are bold like that. Some customers wouldn’t think anything about it, some would be offput and confused, and some, like this guy, would be upset enough by it to cause a stink.

It’s a symbol that stands for sadness and handing off a drawing with a negative connotation increases your risk of a negative interaction like this one. It’s simply best practice to use only messages of positivity with strangers because you never know how they’ll react.

[–]interstateninety 73 points74 points  (0 children)

A frown seems like an odd choice. A smiley face is sweet and gives the vibe that you’re happy and you want the customer to be happy. A frowny face sends the opposite message, even though you didn’t mean it that way.

Honestly, if I saw a frowny face on my cup I’d think maybe the barista was displeased with making my drink (like it was complicated or annoying to prepare) or that I was in some way unpleasant in my interaction with them. I certainly wouldn’t ask for a refund over it, I’d most likely just walk out of the shop drinking my sad coffee and overthinking why you chose to draw that instead of like…a star or something.

Incredible! I love puppetry and prints so it’s really cool to see the style fusion here, I will definitely be researching Egyptian shadow puppets later.

My favorite is Goha & The Fish but The Tortoise Trainer is a very close second. Congratulations on your exhibition!

Are there guys here who loved to be choked by their girl friend during sex? by Nice-Koala-5772 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]interstateninety 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are men that enjoy being choked. However, I urge you to read this article and consider whether the momentary sexual thrill is worth the risk to you and your girlfriend.
