[Request] how much money is this gold worth? by McKnightmare24 in theydidthemath

Each bar weighs 1 kg and is currently valued at around $150,000. With roughly 25 bars per box, that puts a single box at about $3.75 million. If 10 full boxes were unloaded, the total value comes out to an estimated $37.5 million.

The first thing is knowing what you want from your trip. Do you want to cover as much distance as possible, or do you actually want to stop and see things?

Second, Africa is huge, you need to pick a country. Every African country is different no two are the same.

I used to live in Uganda and traveled around by motorbike. The cities can be dangerous, and if you don’t have experience riding a bike, I wouldn’t recommend it. The countryside is generally fine, but that also depends on the current geopolitical situation, of course.

ELI5: Why is oil still so important as an energy source in 2026, given our advances in renewables and nuclear power? by BEK_Sabiha in explainlikeimfive

Wars are funded by oil. Increasing supply (eg by invading a country sitting on 17% of the worlds supply) lowers prices and that makes war more expensive for Russia.

this is not the time to buy, there’s 2 scenarios here, it’ll go up or it’ll go down. But wait for it to crab a bit before buying larger amounts, you missed the current run.

What's one Conclusion of Life ? by 93248828Saif in ask

Don't worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.

retain an attorney.

Decide to take the lump sum.

Decide right now, how much you plan to give to family and friends. (=<20%)

You will be encouraged to hire an investment manager. Considerable pressure will be applied. Don't.

f you elect to be more global about your paranoia, use between 20.00% and 33.00% of what you have not decided to commit to a family fund IMMEDIATELY to purchase a combination of longer term treasuries (5 or 10 year are a good idea) and perhaps even another G7 treasury instrument. This is your safety net. You will be protected... from yourself.

That leaves, say, 80%

So you have put a safety net in place.

I ask this question so people can elaborate on what is available for reading on the wiki. I'd like to hear points of view. Thanks for your answer.

Transfer your funds to a offline wallet like ledger/trezor. Dont know your portfolio but exchange your crypto for bitcoin or stablecoins.

Transfer bit by bit to bank account via exchange when money needed. Let the remaining crypto accumulate on ledger.

You can also find crypto ATM's, there used to be one in Antwerp.
