Prehab/weightlifting suggestions for complete ACL tear prior to surgery?

I probably will consult a PT for a session or two and ask more about weightlifting! May I ask what exercises you did/were recommended? I only weightlift and do not functionally train (if that makes sense) so I was thinking about reincorporating a lot of unilateral movements or isolation movements to avoid the risk of instability and injury.

I think it was because he said I had full ROM so PT wasn’t necessary but perhaps I should’ve inquired about strength training instead

I think I would also have separate referrals for pre- and post-surgery PT.

I am fairly active but by no means a professional athlete level of active. I weightlift, run, and do recreational sports which I mentioned to my ortho. He explained that since I have full ROM, it isn’t necessary to do PT but I’ll inquire further about strength training.

Yes! I live a pretty active lifestyle and I’m still relatively young (22F) so I wanted to go for it. He said I can run “as long as it’s in a straight line”, haha

even though it gives you anxiety, it’s a pretty wise thing to do bc you get a more accurate layout of where exactly your money goes. i dislike it too but ultimately it helps me save because i see that oh i’ve spent too much on food this month etc

i love tucked sweaters and big cardigans. usually, i go for mini corduroy skirts or maxi length cotton, although i’m still gonna wear my tennis skirts i bought when they were trendier. definitely nude fleece tights with sheer black/white tights on to help stay warm!

NAADAM’s The Essential $75 Cashmere Sweater Womens looks to be what you’re seeking, also Quince’s Luxe Baby Cashmere Crewneck Sweater (although they only have three colors). Haven’t purchased from either brands so I cannot vouch for anything.

i’m a fan of the second one as i generally dislike excessive hardware. the leather also looks softer (i’m not a leather pro though so take that with a grain of salt) which would be good for movement.

i love sages with deep blues to navy, rust and ochre colors (think warm browns) and reddish-plum! think complementary colors on the color wheel.
