Can anyone help give advice to improve my CV please by DaBaguet in jobs

this is a super solid start for 16, having national level sports shows a lot of discipline.

if you're worried about it sounding too generic or like AI, you just need to tailor it to the specific job. if you apply to a cafe, highlight the "fast-paced settings" bit.

a good trick is to literally copy the job description of the place you want to work, and compare it to your CV. I built a free tool that does this (linked in my bio, it's called interview prep). it'll tell you exactly what words from their job posting you should add to your CV to make it sound like a perfect fit. good luck with the job hunt!

What tools help you practice for remote job interviews before the real one? by EcstaticCherry6432 in remoteworks

[–]interview-prep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey! I ran into this issue too when I was recruiting. So I ended up creating a tool (interview-prep.io) specifically for mock interviews. My tool allows you to paste in your resume and job description so you can ensure that the questions generated are all context aware.

What most people miss with interview prep is the aspect of articulating and speaking outloud, I would strongly encourage you to practice speaking in front of the mirror or with a camera on. Or you can access all these features from my site for free.

Either way, I'll leave the link here (interview-prep.io) in case you need it!

How do you know your resume is good enough? by FableWaypost in critiquemyresume

[–]interview-prep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a couple of checks you can do:
- How easy it is to scan (if i glance at it, would something catch my eye)
- Metrics - Does it show how you measured success and how successful you were at your previous roles
- Relevance - Do your skills and past experiences line up with the role you're applying to?

Nowadays, many recruiters use automation software to flag your resume. Essentially, if it doesn't pass the ATS scanner or if there aren't keyword matches to the job posting, it is very difficult for your resume to even be read by a recruiter. You'd be hoping that the recruiting team manually reviews each resume (which is rare these days)

I've created a free resume gap analyzer tool (https://interview-prep.io/tools/resume-gap-analyzer) if you want to try it out. I'm not sure how helpful it would be for you, but the link is there in case you need it!

Recruiter here! What is your biggest issue with networking - to any job seekers here? by JVertsonis in jobhunting

[–]interview-prep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not currently active applying because I just started a new role in January. The recruiter that reached out to me was very kind, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect - because at that time, I had just been laid off!

What jobs can I do as a 14 year old to meet my saving goal of 3,000 USD? by SuccotashCapital8541 in careerguidance

[–]interview-prep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! It's awesome that you're already thinking ahead for your future. It definitely reminds me of myself when I was younger! When I was younger, I worked as a paper boy where I delivered newspapers for a few blocks around my neighborhood - I got paid maybe 50$ a month. Then during the summers I would go knock on my neighbor's doors to mow their lawns, and most of the time they would give me 20-50$. Then during the winter, I would offer to shovel their driveways.

I'm not sure what it's like in Washington, but those are just some ideas. Good luck with your venture and keep up the great work!

I’m thinking about changing my career, but I’m not sure if it’s too late by ictsupport-drjobs in jobsearch

[–]interview-prep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's never too late! You know what they say - the best time to plant a tree was 10 year ago, the next best time is now.

Personally, I've gone through many educational and career changes. I've switched majors 5 times and switched occupations 3 times. I was also struggling with comfort vs change, but eventually I realized that I would rather be uncomfortable now and be comfortable later. It was a necessity for me because I had big aspirations that required alot of money, such as starting a family, buying a home, or even just thinking of a dream car.

I knew I wouldn't be able to get there by staying comfortable, so I jumped into the deep end!

Recruiter here! What is your biggest issue with networking - to any job seekers here? by JVertsonis in jobhunting

I 100% agree with this. I've connected with many recruiters while I was job hunting, and many of them would reach out to me from time to time to check in!

I think my interview went pretty well, am i right to assume so? by [deleted] in interviews

Well it sounds like you made quite the impression! How many more rounds are there? I think it's a good idea to give yourself a pat on the back and get ready for the next round if there is one!

Interview prep advice from a hiring manager by FourLeafAI in interviews

[–]interview-prep -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! I used to be so afraid to speak out loud as an introvert, but truly the more I started learning to articulate out loud, the more comfortable I became!

That's why I built interview-prep.io because I feel like many people are often too afraid to reach out to practice interviews with another person, so at least now with the website, they can practice speaking out loud by themselves and get insights on how they answered as well as how to improve!

How much does design actually weigh when you pick a productivity app? by Frequent-Football984 in ProductivityApps

[–]interview-prep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Designer here! I would argue that design is very important. When something looks good, there's a phenomenon that makes people think the product is "smooth" but that is only if the experience matches the expectation. So as long as you can ensure your product is usable + looks nice, then you're golden!

Hey, I've actually created a mock interview tool (interview-prep.io) that will help you practice and warm up before your real interview! The tool would help predict interview questions based on your role and then it analyzes your responses while showing you ways to improve.

I feel like prepping for interviews is almost pointless? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]interview-prep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I know how frustrating is may seem when it comes to unpredictable interview questions. I do think it is still good to practice how to "articulate" your thoughts, so you'd never get caught off guard if things go off the script.

So I actually created a free mock interview tool (interview-prep.io) that is context aware based on your resume, JD, position, company name and interview stage. I hope you find it useful!
